Guilt Trip, Anyone?

Any minute now, I’m planning to hop out and lay some guilt trip on someone for not making things right.  Although, I hate it when someone’s trying to be cute and play a guilt trip on me.  It makes me feel somewhat obligated, emotionally manipulated and well, guilty.  I guess it’s the second  worst feeling beside hatred or jealousy.  But it won’t hurt if I’ll try it once and see if it actually works.  It might be effective but it might be distasteful.

Well, I think it’s just normal for us to feel guilty sometimes, and to make someone feel a pinch of guilt as well. Indeed, it is something we have to deal with or live with. Hopefully, not for long. Although, it amazes me, how some people can lie to your face, and not feel the least bit of guilt. Until the guilt finally kick in and eat ‘em alive! I just have a simple wish for those kind of people though: "May you run out of toilet paper when you need it most. " Nah, just kidding. (Though jokes are half meant.) :)

So there, do you think guilt is a wasted emotion? Can we actually control a person with guilt, just to get them to do what we want them to do? Hmm.. I think the thing about guilt is, it stays there until the person does the right thing. I dunno. That’s just what I think it is.

So here’s my simple checklist to pull the guilt trip on someone:

Hi _____!

It’s been:
   ¨  5 minutes
   þ  Days
   ¨  Weeks
   ¨  Months
   ¨  Years
   ¨  Forever

You never:

¨ Text

¨  Call
¨  Write
¨  Visit
¨  Skype
¨  Clean Up
¨  Arrive on time
¨  Show support
¨  Hang out
¨  Give me a ride
þ Say sorry/ Apologize
  ¨ Flatter me
  ¨ Say I love you
  ¨ Invite me
  ¨ Pay the bills
  þ  Listen

I guess I’ll just:
   þ  Sigh
   ¨  Stare out the window
   ¨  Talk to myself
   ¨  Cry quietly
   ¨  Wait  patiently
   ¨  Eat ice cream
   ¨  Drink milk tea
þ  Order the damned McDo Twister Fries
¨  Count the strands of my hair

Love,
Moi

After  this, I’ll simply forget the outcome, learn from the mistakes and forget the guilt. No more guilt trippin’!

So, who else wants to go on a major guilt trip? Let’s just hope everyone going on a guilt trip (including me) to pack extra feelings. Remember, people, we all need a little sensitivity.  Period.

For now, I’m going to live my life and enjoy it without an ounce of guilt! :)

Pentax 645D: Not Your Average Toy for the Big Boys

As a photographer and videographer of Shutter Count, I'm always on the prowl to find the best landscape shot and stunning images with a camera in hand. That being said, it also includes looking for a good MF camera. 35mm was already considered small compared to 120mm, or more popularly known as medium format, which was the tool of choice by most professional photographers. Why? Simply because medium format cameras gave better picture quality which suited industry standards, specifically requirements on large format printing and advertising.

So move over, Canon & Nikon! There is a new MF camera EVERY professional landscape and nature photographer is drooling about. It's the best thing going in medium format which deserves the highest praise there is.

It's the Pentax 645D!

As digital photography got more advanced, more and more enthusiasts and professional photographers alike aspired to get the latest and more powerful tools. A full frame DLSR is the most sought-after camera for many photographers, but a medium format DLSR such as Pentax 645D will definitely change the way how to look at a more professionally made photograph than the others.

Just recently, Super East Asia Enterprise, Inc., the sole distributor of Pentax cameras here in the Philippines, held the “Pentax 645D Touch, Try, Experience” event at the DPI XL Studios in Makati City. With Creative Directors and Professional Photographers in attendance, they all wanted to try out and experience the Pentax 645D’s superior performance with regard to image quality.
Super East Asia Enterprises, Inc. (SEAEI) Vice President for Operations Mr. Robenson Ong Lo shows the guests Pentax’s medium for camera Pentax 645D, while discussing the camera’s features. Together with him in the picture is SEAEI Marketing Officer Schedar Oro.
With its magnesium alloy body, Pentax 645D can work in any kind of weather. As shown in the picture, Pentax 645D still works even after sprayed with water.
Pentax not only showcased its powerful medium format camera, but also its other line of cameras from point-and-shoot, mirror less and SLR’s.
The Pentax 645D boasts an effective 40-megapixel medium format (44x33mm) CCD sensor that provides top resolution of 7264x5440 pixels, the Pentax 645D is suitable for ultra-high resolution imaging, perfect for large format printing applications and has an outstanding cropping flexibility.

It is also weather proof as its design resists rain, snow, dust and other environmental hazards during on-location shoots and still maintains peak camera performance. Its magnesium alloy body around its rigid aluminum die-cast chassis gives it durability and thermal stability yet lightweight at the same time.

There will also be no problems with lens compatibility as the Pentax 645D can use D FA autofocus lenses and older 645 lenses, which gives it a wide range of photographic applications. Its 3-inch LCD screen is equipped with anti-reflective coating and reinforced glass surface, and also features 921,000 dots of resolution which enables it to provide a 32x image review magnification for better on-camera proofing. And its high capacity Li-Ion battery can take up to 800 shots in normal shooting conditions.

Though a single unit of Pentax 645D may cost photographers around P600,000, it is still competitively priced if ranged against a camera of the same capability yet costs a million pesos or more. And even if the Pentax 645D is not your ordinary “toy for the big boys,” it is still a must-have tool for men (or women) of profession.

All in all, the Pentax 645D is a photographer's camera and it's definitely a good investment for most professional photographers, especially for those who specialize in weddings, portraits or products as it can set their services apart from other photographers. A Pentax 645D in hand will definitely take your photography expertise to the next level.

For more information about the Pentax 645D camera and where to buy, visit camerahaus.com or call (+632) 570-8415.

Spread the Love in a Squeezable Tube with McCormick's New Bread Spread Line

I believe that "Man shall not live by bread alone." Sometimes, a man needs a little bit of yummy spread on it.

But do you ever get really sad when the bread spread doesn't spread well on the bread? Well,  I do. Sometimes, it can be messy and I'm always left wondering how to spread my favorite spread on my bread without using a knife. I also feel it's troublesome to wash the knife after using it.

Good thing I was able to attend the official media launch of the newest product line of McCormick. Held at Fully BookedTop Shelf in Bonifacio High Street, McCormick along with friends from the media and blogging community wave “Goodbye Bland, Hello Flavorful!”.

The Bread Spreads come in an exciting array of flavors – Garlic, Herb Parmesan and Pesto – that are sure to delight the taste buds of all mommies and foodies out there.

Here are some of the reasons why I love them:

1. Creative Packaging -  McCormick  Bread Spreads have 0g trans fat and come in no-mess squeezable tubes. So you can bring them with you anytime, anywhere. The packaging looks like facial wash though. So please, never mix them up.

2. Convenience - They are easy to use and these tubes are perfect to bring to the office, take to picnics, and even include in kids' baon bags.

3.  Hygienic -  No more worries about spills or messes. Clean as you go. It squeezes, it doesn't make a mess and if you hold it closer, you may even hear it say I Love you. Okay, kidding.. that's just me. :)

4. Easy storage - It is quite handy and very easy to store.

5. Flavorful - Oh, and let's not forget the most important reason of all! I love 'em because they are all flavorful. On wheat bread, crackers, white bread, biscuits and toast, these are the spreads that I LOVE the most!  They are as versatile as can be.

Actually, we just discovered its versatility as soon as we recovered from the shock of its goodness after sucking 3 tubes of McCormick Bread Spreads in one sitting. LOL

When there's no good bread to spread 'em on, what does one do? Simply eat it with chips or tacos as dips. They are also great when paired with a variety of foods from salads to pastas to main dishes.

The highlight of the event is a cooking demo by Celebrity Chef Stephanie Zubiri who presented  the amazing flavor and true versatility of the line by concocting three delectable dishes using McCormick Bread Spreads. The way she spreads the spread perfectly across the bread with one swipe never ceases to amaze me.
She prepared scrumptious meals like Pesto Orange Balsamic Salad Dressing, Garlic Herb Lemon Zest Carbonara, and Grilled Stuffed Chicken Breast with Roasted Veggie Millefeuille.

A big thanks to McCormick for the invite and with the introduction of this latest line of products, McCormick continues to bring passion to flavor. Look for the new McCormick Bread Spreads at your neighborhood supermarkets and put an end to bland. McCormick Bread Spreads are available in leading supermarkets and groceries for only PhP 85 SRP.

For more deets about McCormick and McCormick products, visit www.mccormick.com.ph and www.facebook.com/friendsandflavor. For delicious recipes, go to McCormick Flavor HQ at apps.facebook.com/flavorhq or mobile.mccormick.com.ph.

So there, do you think this flavoured squeezable tube is a great idea? How about a refillable squeezable tube because I think it's more eco-friendly and it may be a wee bit cheaper right? Haha. Just sayin'.

Go give McCormick a squeeze and spread the love.

Coming Home to Mandaue Foam

They say home is where the heart is. Also, an awful lot of you would see owning a house or condo as the best long-term investment. Well, that includes me and my hubby. So we just got a condo a few months ago at California Garden Square, located at the heart of  Mandaluyong City.

Then what comes next after buying a condo? The itch that wifey get to look for new furniture and to start decorating. Right after moving in, women can't help stockpiling decorating ideas along with some hot ramen. It's not rocket science. It's just natural how a woman turns a house into a home, groceries to a meal & love making to birth. Whatever you give a good woman, she makes it greater. Agree or agree??

So I was pretty excited and over-the-moon about getting the new pieces and quirky home accessories for our condo. I browsed online and found Mandaue Foam website, showcasing high quality furniture & stylish home accents. They are all sorts of awesome!
Mandaue Foam. Your home, your imagination.

A friend told me that a house isn't a home unless there is a fast wifi connection. When she went to our place, she asked "What's your wifi password?" whereas normal people would normally say, "What a lovely sofa!" or maybe "What a lovely home!".

Well, I have to agree with her but I also think that a house isn't a home unless you have beautiful furniture as well. If you have a beautiful house with fab furniture and a happy family to come home to everyday, then you are absolutely HOME. Whatever you took away from the house isn't nearly as important as the special people and special things that are waiting for you in the house...and that is why I'm coming home to Mandaue Foam.

After browsing Mandaue Foam's website, I'd love to share my top three great finds that I think are pretty neat.

A modern 3-door show rack or shoe cabinet to keep our shoes organized! Love this!

Secondly, each room in the house seems to reduce in size as a family grows so I seriously want to add  these elegant yet practical space savers, such as the square ottoman w/ storage to help me out with decluttering and to maximize the space.  The same great class and design with less space consumption! Hah! They're great space savers right?
Last but not the least, a hotel quality pocket spring mattress is also a must have! One thing I'm sure of is that.. I need to invest in a good, comfy bed because we all need to get a good night's worth of sleep.
I'm such a little housewife, my dream is not to be a billionaire like Bruno Mars. I just want to be happy and live comfortably with my family in a 2-bedroom condo with a stocked fridge! All I want is to see that my house is spotless, laundry's done and dinner on the table when daddy gets home. Simple. But I have to add that I cannot wait to go to  Mandaue Foam  and get things for our condo... pronto!

Oh and I might add some personal touch for our little home... perhaps a department of missing socks somewhere so no sock should be left behind! Because no sock should be mismatched! My daughter, as well as my hubbykins, always mourn over their lost socks. :( RIP little, lost socks. You will be missed.
New advocacy: No sock should never be left behind! No sock should be mismatched!
Corner frames... at the, well, corner, of course.
Some corner frames and lastly, a bath tub with a sign. Need I say more? :)

How about you, people? What was the best investment you bought when setting up your first house? When was the last time you gave your home a clear-out and bought a new furniture? Whilst you're at it, drop in & check out Mandaue Foam’s newest TV commercial:

Just remember, my dear, they can take away your house but not your home, your money but not your riches, your happiness but not your joy, and last but not the least, your past but not your future. Also, don't forget to consult your husband about the comfort level of the chair he will spend the majority of the time sitting in, the overall style of your house, and the “feel” you are trying to create in this "home" you are building together.

So come home to Mandaue Foam. Your home, your imagination.

Check out  Mandaue Foam's Facebook  fan page HERE and follow them on twitter HERE! :)

My Great Northern Sale Experience: Shoppers Gone Wild

I still remember my GNS experience like it was yesterday. It was Friday the 13th.

I was in a hurry. I insisted my hubby to go with me for a quick shopping trip. Just because I believe that behind every strong woman is a man who would carry her bags from all the shopping. Unfortunately, like most men, he found shopping boring and preferred to stay at home.

So I went shopping alone and snuck off to the Great Northern Sale at SM North Edsa. For me, it sounded like the great Northern Star, the prominent star that lies closest in the sky to the north celestial pole. I was lookin' at it just like a star, only shinier.. and I was determined to get it.

I imagined myself going on a massive shopping spree, galavanting around the SM Department Store with hundreds of shopping bags slung over my arms and shoulder, overly excited and giddy with excitement at the sight of Sale items and more. Shoes? Dress? Bra? Bag? Pants? Ahh, the SM Department Store was my oyster. I was excited because that was my first ever Great Northern Sale. Big deal, my friend. Huge.

GNS was packed!
Except my dream deflated and it suddenly dawned at me as I walked down the shopping aisle. I went there extra early but there were already a sea of people aka a huge crowd rubbing elbows, anxiously doing a shopping marathon.

Shoppers gone wild!
The mall was packed! If I could add a sport to the Olympics, that'd be shopping. Perhaps some competitive shopping?

Guess so.

Then I thought, "So this is how wild things can get at SM North Edsa's Great Northern Sale. Shoppers gone wild and major discounts everywhere you look! There were way too many people in a shopping mall that size, and I've never seen shoppers so crazy. Oh well, who doesn't love a good sale?

I was also a bit overwhelmed with all the signs "50-70% OFF". I guess SM North Edsa is designed to overwhelm you with brightness and sensory overstimulation so you may spend mindlessly. All because it's a SALE day! Sure the birth of my daughter was special but I'd rate the day the Great Northern Sale started pretty high up there too (and I knew that it was going to be the death of me!) It's by far, one of the busiest, if not the busiest shopping day of the year. How I wish the Great Northern Sale has never ever ended. Or better yet, I wish I could have unlimited money for shopping.

Then I went up to the 3rd floor at Kid's section and I was like, wanting everything in sight. I browsed for a few more hours and I finished a whole set of K-pop inspired outfit for my little girl and a running shorts for my hubby. Sweet!

Glad to say that "I came, I saw, I conquered." :)

Here's a peek of my shopping haul and all the goodies I scored from the GNS:
Loving my daughter's K-pop outfitey from SM Kids' K-Pop Collection. So havey! I might even get her to  join the  SM Kids' Search for Toon Fest K-Pop Rising Star! Yay!

My most favorite part of  my GNS shopping experience was the moment I saw an orange polka dot top and tried the piece on..  and it was the perfect size. Whoever said Friday the 13th is unlucky clearly  wasn't a smart shopper and didn't know how to shop for sale. That being said, I'm proud to say that I'm officially a frugal sale shopper and I save money that way.

On the other hand, the least favorite part of shopping for me is the payment part and the post-shopping calculation ( I seriously hate Math). The best part though was when I took advantage of the 50-70% off  on sale items and I was able to save over 50% in total. Wow. Just wow. I have to say it felt pretty darn good.

After a few hours of shopping, I used my Gourmet Card  where anyone can have an ultimate dining privilege and get lots of freebies and discounts from participating restaurants. I loved it!

So here's a tip, for those guys who want to know how to satisfy a woman:

The G spot is located at the end of the word shopping, and at the first word of the phrase "Great Northern Sale". So don't dare miss out the great opportunity to shop for the next Great Northern Sale at SM next year where you can get up to 70% off on selected brands.

Happy shopping!
