Hi-5 Philippines: Watch Hi-5's new all-Filipino Cast on TV5

L. O. V. E. I love you and you love me.
L. O. V. E. That's the way it's meant to be.

That moment you sing a song and treat it like an alien invasion: "Who are you? How did you get in my head? Who sent you?!" Well, guess what... it's 1,2,3,4, Hi-5!

Maia with her pretty BFF, Keisha
Are you or your kids fans of the group, Hi-5? We sure are in our house. :) I was singing, dancing and Hi-5'ing with my daughter since yesterday because we finally got to meet the new all-Pinoy cast of Hi-5 at Studio 4 TV5 Media Center.

The Hi-5 roundabout has swung around again, with a new cast, new team and new songs that will surely bring fun and joy to kids and kids at heart. Hi-5 Philippines is a local version of the award-winning Australian children’s edutainment program. Airing weekdays at 8:30 a.m. starting June 15, the show also features an all-Filipino cast, a first for the series franchise in Asia.

Meet the Hi-5 Philippines cast...

Gerard Pagunsan, Aira Binas, Rissey Reyes, Alex Reyes, and Fred Lo! They are set to bring a Hi-5 House Party in every household as they interact with kids in both English and Filipino, inviting the young audience to sing and dance along to the show’s iconic songs and lessons.

The dynamic new quintet all boast of extensive backgrounds in performing arts and will now channel that energy to engage kids in music, imaginative play, social interaction, and developmental growth in a fun way.

Fely Irvine of Hi-5 Australia formally welcomed and gave a big HI-5 to the Hi-5 Philippines cast. Fely is half-Filipina, half-Australian and she's extremely talented. No wonder she's Maia's favorite in Hi-5 and she was really excited to have a photo with her.

The kids had so much fun doing fun activities like coloring pages and stamping their hands on the wall. :)

Maia also had her photo taken with Kuya Fred who is really cute and charming, btw. LOL

So before my hubby gives me that "look"...  here's a sneak peek of the media launch yesterday. :)

“With Hi-5 Philippines, we are very excited to bring the world-class edutainment experience closer to more Filipino kids. This is our way of not only showcasing world-class Filipino talent, but more importantly, helping shape our country’s future generations,” said Noel Lorenzana, TV5 president and CEO.

“We are proud to partner with Hi-5 World in introducing to millions of Filipino kids a local version of this highly interactive edutainment show. We are up to the challenge of producing the show that is at par with global standards,” said Jane Basas, Media 5 Corporation president.

Hi-5 was launched in Australia in 1999 and rapidly grew in popularity over the years. It has won three Logie Awards for Most Outstanding Children's Program, five ARIA Awards for Best Children's Album and five Australian DVD and Video Industry Awards, among other achievements. It was then that Hi-5 started expanding its reach by franchising the show across North America, Europe, Australasia, Latin America, and Asia.

However, this is the first time that the Hi-5 franchise assembled an entirely new cast for the localization of the show in Asia. The Filipino version of the musical group is currently one of the only two casts for Hi-5, the other one being the Australian cast.

Also, I had a chance to have a photo op with Ate Sienna of Batibot who is the Production Director of Hi-5 Philippines. Sorry, I couldn't help it. I love Batibot and I miss Kiko Matsing, Pong Pagong, Sitsiritsit Alibangbang, Manang Bola, Kuya Bodjie & Ate Sienna! :)

Now, Hi-5 is the "Batibot" of the new generation. Watch how the Hi-5 gang of Gerard, Aira, Rissy, Alex and Fred makes learning exciting and fun for kids through songs and dancing. Don’t miss Hi-5 Philippines, airing weekdays at 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 pm starting June 15, only on TV5.
