Product Review: Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover

A lot of people ask me what products I'm using for my skin and what my skincare routine is. Actually, my daily cleansing routine is really simple and basic. I have dry skin and it doesn't need a thorough cleansing in the morning. My skin is sensitive as well, where I can get redness if I use harsher cleansers so my current routine with an amazing product which I've been using for more than half a month now works like a charm. And that product, my dear, is Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover.

It's a no-rinse cleanser and makeup remover that I use with a cotton pad and swipe all over my face. The no-rinse formula simply means it does not need to be rinsed off and it leaves my skin hydrated, soft and clean without any residue. It has a clear water formula and a very light fresh scent. It's also a great makeup remover, as it removes my whole make-up with two cotton pads and all the dirt and grime comes right off.

I heard of Avene Micellar Lotion for the first time in a Eau Thermale Avène Media event where skin care expert, Ms. Anne-Charlotte Jakubczak from Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique Asia Pacific, introduced Avène’s products that are made according to specific skin types.

Eau Thermale Avène is a widely recognized dermo-cosmetic brand dedicated to addressing different levels of skin sensitivity.  She highlighted a new makeup remover that will complement the Avene line.

Likewise, she told us about the use of these products as means to prevent and minimize blemishes. She also said that most skin is sensitive in some degree and the degree of the sensitiveness lies within genetically.

So, Why Eau Thermale Avène? Because this is the brand that is known and has been proven to be effective for reducing or clearing the symptoms of skin sensitivity for the past 300 years.

It is famous for its thermal spring water with healing capability. For the past three hundred years, this thermal spring water has been used to provide treatment to various skin conditions that includes wounds from burns during the great Chicago fire in 1871. This thermal spring water, or now known as Eau Thermale Avène continue its advocacy in the skin treatment by establishing a hydrotherapy center that caters to 8000 patients a year.

She mentioned about the Avene Micellar Lotion and how she swears by their range for skincare. I tried getting hold of these after the event. Having used both for nearly a month now, I can say that their products are amazingly effective.

What I love about Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover:
  •  Easy to apply. No-rinse formula. No need to rinse off!
  •  Effective make-up remover. Quick, easy removal of waterproof makeup.
  •  It feels incredibly light and refreshing.
  •  Preservative-free, oil-free, Soap-free, oil-free, alcohol-free.
  • It preserves and pampers the skin by the naturally soothing properties of soothing and anti-irritating Avène Thermal  Spring Water (their bestseller)
  • Discreet and light fresh scent.
  • Hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. It is intended for sensitive skin that is prone to redness. I didn't get any breakouts, so basically this is the product for me!

Overall, it's a great product with a reasonable price tag that I will surely repurchase and recommend to everyone. I am on to my second bottle of the Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover and my skin loves it. I usually spray a light mist of Avène Thermal Spring Water after using the Micellar Lotion. I just love the soothing and refreshing feel! Give it a try if you can get your hands on it. :) I haven’t tried the other products yet but so far Avene is tickling my fancy quite a lot.
