Spa Review: Isis Wellness and Spa in Makati

Nothing beats a good hour long massage and a glass of wine. I swear I spend most of my time thinking about how much I want a massage that pairs better with wine and food. Recently, I was able to squeeze some "me" time and found the perfect place to treat myself to a spa break.

I was referring to the Isis Spa which nestles in a haven of tranquillity inside Prince Plaza 1 Condominium, just across Greenbelt 5 along Legazpi St., Makati.

Isis  Spa is not just about massage, it's increasingly about good food, exclusive hospitality and great service.

It is named after the Egyptian goddess Isis, not to be confused with the acronym of the violent terror group in Iraq and Syria. The owners said it is an incredible strike of bad luck for them and they wish it was easier to change but it is not because the procedure is quite lengthy and expensive.

However, you need to forget about the mix up and name confusion (yes, really!) because if you’re looking to wind down after a stressful week and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, you’d be surprised at what Isis Spa has to offer. It's a small spa dedicated to giving the very best service and product, and I assure you that they will really take good care of you.

We were greeted by the spa owners, Merna and Didier Derouet. Merna, a licensed physiotherapist like me, spent many years working abroad for some of the finest spas while Didier is a pastry chef with years of expertise and Fairmonts and Raffles Hotel. Now, that's what you call a power couple.

There’s also an abundance of rustic charm with its “close-to-nature” feel, with 4 massage rooms that are dimly lit and divided by an accordion type solid door.  Filled with earth tones, green wall and dark wood fixtures plus some memoirs of their Asian trips, you will be pleased by the relaxing music and scent of essential oils as though you’ve just been transported into another place.

What I love and what's really unique about this place compared to other spas in the city is that they serve delicious concoctions and refreshing drinks before or after your massage. The finest gourmet food and refreshment serves as a welcome treat for guests' arrival.

As our welcome drink, they served  a glass of lemongrass infused sparkling water. Having the essence of ginger, lemongrass and calamansi, it was the most refreshing and exquisite welcome drink I ever had.

A plate of Roast Pork with bread and tangy dipping sauce was perfection. To be honest, everything was perfect.

For facial spa treatments, they use the all-natural Pevonia products which I really love. This organic line uses plants and herbs to heal the body that is featured and used by some of the best spas in the world. If you want the very best for your skin, clearly the choice is Pevonia.

I've tried ISIS Wellness and Spa's Signature Pevonia Spa Facial and it's seriously the most relaxing facial experience I've ever had! Best service + Best product = Best spa experience.

If you fancy a truly sensorial massage experience,  I recommend a full body massage a facial treatment at Isis Spa, leaving you both relaxed and renewed. The massage was great and very relaxing. It was quite surprising to realize how much tension there was and it tipped me over the edge into a state of unconsciousness. For a moment, I felt like I never ever ever ever  want to leave this place. Ever. :)

At the end of the massage, how can you say "NO" to freshly made juice cocktails, hot tea and homemade cakes that are complimentary with the relaxing treatments.

You can choose from any of the services they offer. Massage treatments, scrubs, reflexology, facials, for a full hour, in the combination of your choice for only Php 350. This offer is available daily between the hours of 12 noon and 5 pm until November 30th. This is an offer you cannot miss.

It would be very easy for me to keep raving all day about all the great things at Isis Spa. But believe me, the longer you are there, the more wonderful things you experience. :) The complimentary drinks and delicious food, the essential oils, and the impeccable service. But I guess these are all reasons for you to go and try it out for yourself.

Definitely going back there for a massage and a glass of wine soon. Any takers?

The spa is open everyday from 10 am to 8 pm. ISIS Wellness and Spa is located ar G7 Prince Plaza Condominium, Legaspi Street, Makati City.  It is best to call them at 0921 572 8408 to reserve but they also welcome walk ins. It is also available for home service within the area.  For more deets, like their Facebook page.

  1. Super nice deal! The price is so affordable. I thought the price would range from 700 to 1000. I just had my spa session late last month, but I'll try this one to grab the offer. :) A perfect way to spend the weekend
