Product Review & Swatch: Go and Glow with Myra VitaGlow BB Cream

Hi, ladies!

Oily skin is in! So how do we fight oily skin and glow without feeling and looking greasy? And how do you keep yourself looking fresh, blooming, and effortlessly beautiful throughout the day? It's not easy, right?

Good thing I received a press kit and a personalized make up brush set from Myra to check out their latest product, Myra VitaGlow BB Cream.  When I spotted this cute pink tube, I didn't hesitate for a minute and instantly tried its prettifying power.

It claims that it is the perfect product for modern girls on the go who need to look gorgeous in a flash. So let's find out what I think about this product:

Pros:

It’s indeed moisturizing and lightweight.
It’s easy to apply. Just shake well before use. Apply a small amount on face and neck using your fingers and blend it evenly for a natural finish. You can also use it daily as your facial moisturizer. Can also be used as a make-up base.
It contains Vitamin E. This helps nourish your skin even more, so your complexion appears younger-looking and healthy.
•  It can be used as a highlighter or shimmering eye shadow primer. The tinted formula comes in two shades: Ivory and Beige, to help you even out your skin tone perfectly.

Here are the swatches of both shades of Myra VitaGlow BB Cream. Ivory is on the left while Beige is on the right.

The texture of this product is a cross between a fine mousse and cream packed with skin-enhancing minerals. The subtle, light-reflecting shimmers in this cream will make you look like you’ve got a lit-from-within glow immediately after applying it.
It has sunscreen. The SPF15 in this easy to bring tube will protect you from harmful UV rays that causes premature aging.
It’s hypoallergenic. So you don’t need to worry about breakouts, because this dermatologist-tested cream is proven safe for daily use.
It's the most affordable! There's no need to hesitate when it comes to purchasing this product, since you can score instant glowing skin for only P99 a tube. Such a great beauty steal!
•  The tube is slim and travel friendly, so you can throw it in your kikay kit or makeup bag for quick touch ups. A perfect face product when you are on the go or in hurry but it does need some blotting /powdering during the day.

Cons:

Limited shades. I personally feel it may be a little too light for dusky and black beauties.
•  Other girls might not prefer the light-reflecting shimmers and sparkles.
•  It has a very sheer coverage. You can use it as concealer but you need to pat extra layers of Myra VitaGlow BB Cream to camouflage dark spots and blemishes.

"Myra VitaGlow is now my go-to BB cream," says Ana Victorino, local YouTube sensation and beauty video blogger. "I love the instant, glowing effect it gives my skin. With this in my beauty arsenal, I can create my 'no makeup' look in less than five minutes, too."

Overall, I personally like it because I don’t enjoy thick makeup up on my face; it worked on the dark circles under my eyes with a bit of eye concealer.  However, some people would prefer a heavier coverage and they'd  think “light” means more oily T-zones. To each their own, right?  If you’re looking for very light and sheer coverage, this is for you! I can use it everyday because of its moisturizing benefits. And yes, lots of girls (dudes even) use BB Cream as part of their daily routine and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Best of all, it's only Php 99.00! Use this unique BB cream to add a natural, glowing finish to your skin!

Thank you very much for this review, Rockstarmomma! The Pros & Cons lists are easy to read and understand. I am excited to try the Myra Vitaglow BB Cream because it is a BB Cream with Vitamin E! I hope I find the right shade that suits my skin tone.

  5. BB cream is one of my go-to products for that less-is-more [makeup] look, especially when I'm in a rush to go to the supermarket, or even when I'm just at home but am expecting to go out anytime on short errands. This is affordable too! Myra is also a local brand that is made for Filipino skin. Thanks for the heads up about the availability of this product, I think I'm gonna give it a try. :-)
