7th Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run: A Race Recap

Today's a lot of  fun as thousands celebrate health and wellness at the running event, Robinsons Supermarket’s 7th Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run. Now on its 7th year, the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run continues to encourage people to engage in healthier activities, in line with the supermarket’s I Love Wellness campaign.

My first Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run last 2010
A superb race. This is the second time I have run the Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run 10k (formerly with hubby as my running buddy) and it gets bigger and better every single year.

This time, I had my blogger friend, Ate Jinkee of www.livelifefullest.com, as my running buddy for the 10k race. We also ran with my dearest friends, Jen and Rochelle, who still look fab and pretty after the run.

It feels good when we do a 10K together at a very easy pace. The annual run aims to promote the benefits of staying in shape. Running and keeping healthy was twice the fun as pairs of race buddies crossed the finish line in Robinsons Supermarket’s 7th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run held on July 6 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

This race is known, not only for its excellent and well organized event, but also BGC's beautiful scenery. The challenging course, copious water and sports drinks, cheap registration fees and having the most freebies in a race which you get in loot bags and the generous sampling of food given at the race grounds during the post-race events, makes it one of the best fun runs ever. The aid stations were well stocked.  All participants took home a Robinsons Supermarket I Love Wellness bag filled with goodies from sponsors.  Plus a fun and very entertaining zumba session after the run!

Also, the crowd of runners were controlled as the presence of race marshals were all over the race route. I love the great vibes to it with parents and their children in tow, trying to keep up with them.

“We organize the Fit & Fun Buddy Run every year not only to promote health and wellness but also to strengthen the bond for family and friends,” said Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket general manager.

The fun run’s 5K and 10K events were attended by around 4,500 recreational runners, including the members of the national rugby team, the Philippine Volcanoes, and other celebrities.

At the end of the run, top pair finishers received prizes from Robinsons Supermarket officials. 5K winners won a trip to Coron, Palawan while 10k winners bagged a trip for two to Phuket, Thailand. 2nd to 5th place finishers received Robinsons Gift Certificates as consolation prizes. Special awards and gift packs were also given by event sponsors Nestle and Unilever to outstanding race buddies.

The Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run is one of the series of events held annually by the largest health and wellness retail chain Robinsons Supermarket, as part of its I Love Wellness campaign.

I also got this great video of me and my running buddies.  It's short but very cool! Watch:

Overall,  this race was an excellent race experience and I definitely would like to run this race again next year as it’s a rewarding race to run. This is one of the best run races that I've been to. It is indeed a two thumbs up for the organizers and of course, Robinsons Supermarket Wellness Team, who made it possible.  Most importantly, it’s a happy "fun" run, a great way to bond with friends and families. Thank you Lord for this wonderful day of  fun, friendship and happiness. Life is indeed beautiful. Thanks heaps to Stratworks and Robinsons Supermarket for the invite. :)

So yeah, if you have not run this race yet, consider it for next year. I assure you... You won't be disappointed. :)
