Preggy Update: 37 weeks preggo, 20 days to go

This week my baby is the size of a huge basketball (yep! still pink!) and this week mommy looks like a huge basketball too! *wink* sorry no pics included! I can no longer fit the lens in my camphone! lol

You are considered full-term now and your baby's final touches are being made. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is now 14 inches and the total length is around 21 inches. Your baby weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. Your uterus may be measuring about the same as it has been and is probably about 6.5 inches from the top of your bellybutton.

Your baby is now fully mature and ready to be born. However, your baby is still growing and developing every day. Fat is still be laid down at a rate of a half ounce a day. If this is your first pregnancy, you can expect to deliver closer to 40 weeks or shortly thereafter. (Thank God!)

Your doctor may begin doing weekly pelvic exams to evaluate your cervical changes and progression. Your healthcare provider will make sure that you are not leaking amniotic fluid and will also examine your cervix to check for effacement and dilation. Before labor, your cervix is thick and 0% effaced. During labor your cervix thins out and right before delivery it will become very soft and 100% effaced.

Research shows your baby can be affected by stress hormones. Make time to relax, to have fun, and to rest. ( I just had a really bad and stressful day and I really really need to relax! badly!! like now! breathe in. breathe out. )

Yay! I'm officially getting more anxious and excited now, being 37 weeks pregnant and still baking. I am thrilled we made it this far but I guess the last yard is making me go a lil nuts and I'm starting to wonder if patience is really a virtue or just virtually impossible!! I wish I would have some clues or hints on when my baby is coming out or when labor is going to start so I'll be truly prepared and ready for it! But I guess I just have to wait and let nature take its course and I do believe that I am pregnant for a reason for however long it's going to be or whenever she's ready to come out! I'm having lots of Braton Hicks contractions lately but there's nothing major or painful... nothing else. I'm just calling all those practice contractions as "baby hugs". I have yet to know if I'm dilated already or if there's any minor or major changes happening with my cervix on Monday for my next check up.

Things I love this week: Childbirth videos on YouTube that show women actually having children without being induced or having a c-section. *gasp* It CAN be done! I also love playing with my bro's baby boy! :) I also think I'm nesting already hihi I already ironed all my baby's clothes and made sure for the nth time that our hospital bags are all set for the D day! whew!

Things I hate this week: Being stressed and pissed off. Having a bad day! Being more emo. Being impatient. Being extremely bored. I always wonder what the heck she’s doing in there. Is she bored like me? lol or is she just trying to get comfy and making more room to party or simply chillaxin' for her last remaining weeks inside my tums? *thinking* I just hope she's happy, healthy and comfy inside my womb.

Hoh well... it's still a waiting game.
