Watch and Be Inspired by Maxene Magalona’s #HerFirstLove Video from PLDT Home

Hello LOVE month! It's time to celebrate love in all of its forms and not just the romantic kind. Indeed, nothing compares to a first love, and for some of us, our first love actually began at home.

In a heartwarming Valentine’s Day video from PLDT Home, Maxene Magalona pens a letter to her late father, the iconic and legendary master rapper Francis Magalona.  Watch the heartwarming video in this link: pldthome.info/HerFirstLoveMommyMichelle

She describes how her father taught her the true meaning of love. A love that's unconditional and with an unbreakable bond.

“For you, love is about acceptance and non-judgment. You love others the way you want to be loved—by just letting you be who you are,” she writes.

“The love my dad showed me is my first love. He was a very genuine person. He showed everyone sincerity and respect. And to me, that’s love – accepting people for who and where they are,” Maxene says.

Love, indeed, is patient and kind. Maxene continues to live on the love that her dad taught her. “The love you experience at home is the love that you model,” she shares. “Love is a safe space where you will be accepted and not judged.”

In her letter, she mentions how her dad showed her unconditional love through his actions. “You always tell me what I need to hear, but in a kind and gentle way,” she writes. “You would laugh and giggle as you tell me that heartbreak and pain are a natural part of life.”

Maxene concludes the letter by declaring that despite the painful heartbreaks, she’s not afraid to love again. “I will never give up. I will never lose hope. I know deep in my heart that I will find my true love one day because you showed me what true love is about. Thank you, Pop. I found my first love at home.”

Just like Maxene Magalona, my Papa is my first love. When he was upset with me, he never hesitated to let me know, but when he was proud, he never hesitated to let the whole world know. And that made all the difference.

He always makes me feel loved and it’s in his everyday efforts that his love can be felt – and it is something that should never be taken for granted. Especially on Valentine’s Day.

The short but meaningful video reminds everyone that life is too short, and that we should spend more time with our loved ones and try our best to reconnect and make the effort to express our love more often.

Life can feel relentlessly busy. So, use Valentine’s Day or the LOVE month as the perfect excuse to reconnect with your loved ones.

That with just a small gesture of love and gratitude, whether spending more quality time with them, or even by saying a simple "kamusta po" or "I miss you" through a text message or video call, you’ll see how much happiness it brings.

Also, I’ve realized that strong, stable internet connection is so important in order for us to enjoy the strongest connections at home. That's why I’m so grateful that PLDT Home has been so reliable and has been a partner in staying in touch so that families can stay strongly connected at home.
