Food is a major part of Filipino culture, reflective of the warmth and diversity of Philippine culture. Food also serves as a reminder of home. Taking cue from these ideas, Cebu Pacific presents a new array of inflight meals that showcase flavors from home—from comfort food to classic Filipino dishes to more contemporary cuisine, the new inflight menu will surely bring CEB travelers an enjoyable experience in the skies.
Starting August 1, 2018, all guests aboard Cebu Pacific flights will be able to enjoy hot and fresh dishes to satisfy their cravings for great-tasting food. Cooked-up in partnership with the world-renowned MIASCOR-Gate Gourmet Philippines, the new menu of Cebu Pacific offers a wide selection of delicious hot plates and savory bites intended to appeal to different tastes, yet guaranteed to make flying with the leading Philippine carrier a delicious experience.
“The new Cebu Pacific inflight menu celebrates Filipino classics and showcases diverse flavors found in the destinations we travel to. By listening to customer feedback, we were able to refine our menu to suit our passengers’ preferences and tastes. Passengers choose to fly with Cebu Pacific for year-round low fares and extensive route and frequencies, and we hope our new food options will help give passengers a more pleasant experience aboard our flights,” said JB Bueno, Director for Inflight Catering and Sales at Cebu Pacific.
The Beef Kare-Kare is reminiscent of home-style cooking, but with a twist as it’s braised in a creamy cashew nut sauce and served with green beans, eggplant and pumpkin, as well as a side of steamed white rice.
On the other hand, sisig was reinvented using grilled chicken meat tossed with red onions, calamansi (Philippine lime), chili and spices; while the melt-in-your-mouth Beef Pares is carefully stewed with soy sauce and star anise and paired with garlic rice—the perfect comfort food for late-night flights.
For pescatarians, the Fish Escabeche is a play of sweet-and-sour flavors with a gently-roasted Dory over a sauce of ginger, coriander, vinegar and brown sugar; while the Stir-Fried Mixed Seafood is a mix of prawns, dory and squid sautéed with a salted egg sauce and served over steamed white rice.
For lighter fare, the Shrimp Alfonso Pasta has a creamy tomato sauce topped with shrimps and Parmesan cheese; while the Tuna Pesto Pasta has spaghetti tossed in sweet-spicy pesto and topped with olives and parmesan cheese.
For quick bites, there’s the Chicken Inasal Burrito—grilled chicken fillet marinated with lemongrass and annatto, shredded, then sprinkled with cheese and wrapped in a soft tortilla.
The Grilled Chicken Herb Bun— chicken fillet slices garnished with a colorful medley of tomato relish, red cabbage and lettuce in freshly baked herb bun, and the Beef Pastrami with tomato relish and lettuce, topped with cheddar cheese, in a freshly baked rosemary and parmesan focaccia bread.
And for a sweet surprise—Cebu Pacific also offers the Ube Langka Croissant, a soft ube (sweet taro) croissant with slices of caramelized jackfruit and ube halaya spread.
The new on-board meals are available on pre-order upon booking a flight, or managing a booked flight on Cebu Pacific. This ensures that the food is prepared only upon order, ensuring a safe, savory and satisfying dining experience.
The new on-board palate pleasers are all Halal-certified, and adhere to the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system for international food safety. Moreover, the on-board meals come with nutritional and product information, as reference for an increasing number of health-conscious passengers on CEB.
