This happened during the most absurdly busy times of our lives, the same day that our car, which we had just bought a new battery for, wouldn’t start, and though arguably much cheaper to replace, the broken printer filled me with a more terrible sense of loss.
It's been really annoying not to have a printer on times like this. Just imagine trying to keep up with the appointments that are not strategically planned out, plus a bulging inbox (like my tummy) that'll most likely never fit back into its skinny jeans. Oh, and it's Maia's exam week so I had to print the reviewer, but I didn't have time to go to the internet cafe to have it printed.
Good thing HP came to the rescue. Nope, it's not Harry Potter.. it's the HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3777 All in One Printer, the printer who lived. HP claims that the it is the world's smallest 'All-in-One' printer, that is why we put the new printer to the test last week and things got really interesting. Ahead, a review and weigh in on the buy-ability of HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3777. So, here's what I think.
- Compact and sleek design
It comes with one HP 680 Setup Black Instant Ink Ready Cartridge, one HP 680 Setup Tri-color Instant Ink Ready Cartridge, a power cord and a USB connectivity cable. Top part of the printer has a control panel that makes it feel more modern than a plain printer. The power button is located on the left side.
The first thing you'll notice that's different is the bar-like design and its scroll feed scan where you slide in the paper from one end and it comes out from the other end. Big difference from our old printer with a flatbed scanner that when you open the lid and put the document there, the flap closes and a bright light scans it. With HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3777, you just feed the paper into its slot and the paper gets copied or scanned seamlessly!
- Convenient, Fast, Easy to use
- A+ Print quality
For the print quality, black text comes out crisp and dense, while solid colours are bright, sharp and vibrant. It can print reasonably quickly without foregoing print quality.
- Wireless printing via social media apps
Yep, you can print even without the router. It lets you print from any mobile device. The social media apps make wireless printing a hassle-free affair. Also, you can scan any object on the go with the HP All-in-One Printer Remote mobile app for your smartphone or tablet, which is available on iOS and Android.
Apart from its wireless usage, you can also use the USB cable to connect the printer to your laptop/computer. Once the software is downloaded and installed, you can get started with printing, scanning and copying files. So yep, if you don't need to print all that much, though, this petite and powerful inkjet printer is a great value for money that provides affordable print, scan, and copy functions to help your child shine in school. That said, my daughter is really happy about our new printer. Here's actual video proof.
I managed to print about 8 Black and White pages per minute. For colored photo printing, the printer took longer. Actually, I can't tell the accurate printing time because it really depends on factors such as paper type and paper size or if it's colored and black and white. We tried printing an A4 size colored image and it took about 3 minutes.
With SRP of P4,390 and its low-cost cartridges, I think the price is quite reasonable and I'm amazed that HP has even managed to squeeze in print, scan and copy functions for that price. The HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3777 printer, the tiny all-in-one that packs a punch, is ideal for millennials and parents who are looking for a convenient, quality and affordable home printing solution to help their children shine in school. Whether you have a drool-worthy selfie to print from your smartphone, a contract to scan or looking to copy something for your kid's project, HP proves that 3,7,5 are your lucky numbers. The odds (literally) are in your favor and it's a great printer that comes with features such as 3-in-1 (print-scan-copy) combo plus a stylish design and vibrant colors.
So there you have it. Buy-ability index: 9/10, higher than that if you're keen to DIY, less if you need a workhorse printer for daily use in an office to do large volumes of printing. All in all, it is a great buy for those who require one simple machine to cater for their occasional print, scan and copy needs at home.
