Hi, lovelies! Have you ever eaten peanut butter right from the jar with or without a spoon? If yes, go ahead and enjoy doing it because there's nothing a spoonful of peanut butter can't fix. Then add some chocolate chips.. hello happiness! :)

Prepare your ingredients for the cake and chocolate buttercream frosting;

First, preheat oven to 350F /177C.Grease the bottom of 9-inch round pan and line with baking paper then set aside.

Then, we started with the dry ingredients by combining Maya cake flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

Our Little Chef Basty, Maia's cousin and BFF, also joined the fun! I just gave them instructions and they did the kid-friendly tasks like a pro! These kids are so smart. I think it’s why I love them so much. (That, and they’re funny and super cute.)

Then for the wet ingredients, we creamed butter, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar in another bowl until it became fluffy.

Then, add eggs and beat well.

Alternately add dry ingredients and milk, ending with the dry mixture and beat well after each addition.

You can use a hand mixer just like what we did but make sure to beat on low speed just to blend and to make it extra light fluffy (minus the mess). Once again, Maia was amazed to see this magical moment when both the dry and wet ingredients transform from separate ingredients to a delicious whole.

We added one of Maia's favorite ingredients, semi-sweet chocolate chips into the cake batter. Of course, that's two of the best flavors combined and they're just perfect together. Without it, peanut butter would be super sad, alone.. Incomplete.. Ugh, the feels. So please, just add them together.  (Okay, does it count as food porn? Nah.)

Last but not the least, pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan then bake for 50-55 minutes or until done. Let it cool completely before frosting.

 For frosting:

Using a wooden spoon or mixer, beat the first 3 ingredients (butter, confectioner's sugar and cocoa powder) in a medium bowl until a light and fluffy frosting forms. Then add milk and whipping cream until it's light and fluffy.

Finally, spread the frosting. Smooth and cover top and sides of cake with frosting. Maia said frosting the Chocolate Buttercream was the most fun part, then we garnished it with walnuts.

Here goes another sweet ending:

A super yummy Peanut Butter and Choco Chip Cake topped with crunchy walnuts! There's no worry or problem you can't solve with a hefty slice of  this delicious cake packed with peanut butter flavor. It's not that photogenic but it really tastes sooo good. Look at this peanut buttery goodness and delicious melty mess of chocolate you see before you. ~drools~

The rich and creamy chocolate buttercream frosting was light and luscious plus it paired perfectly with the cake. It was so good, the kids couldn't take their hands off it! Warning: It's nearly addictive.

Maia and Basty really enjoyed baking and eating it . This cake had F-U-N written all over it! They even put their spoons and thumbs up together in solidarity. Yay! Long live this Peanut Butter and Choco Chip Cake forever and ever!
