Find Authentic Chinese Cuisine at Choi Garden SM Megamall

It's a bit of a struggle for me to spend a fortune on Chinese cuisine. Don’t get me wrong... I really like eating Chinese food, but I’m perfectly happy eating the budget-friendly siomai at the supermarket. My hubby, on the other hand, is a major Chinese food enthusiast and he orders Sweet and Sour Pork every single time.

That being said, let us all acknowledge the truth about Chinese restaurants: it’s not about the kind of food, it’s about the taste and authenticity of food. That truth dawned on me when we tried Choi Garden at SM Megamall and I was pleasantly surprised that we got the feel and taste of authentic Chinese Cuisine with an affordable cost. No, really, I just thought it was a very expensive Chinese restaurant.

The humble beginnings of Choi Garden started with the passion of Mr. Choi TakPui, a Hongkong culinary expert in bringing the taste of authentic Cantonese cuisine in the Philippines. He has established his first restaurants in Greenhills Annapolis, where the current Choi Garden main branch is currently located. Undeniably, Choi Garden Greenhills is a huge success to both nearby Chinese & Filipino in the area. This passion of Mr. Choi spread throughout the country as branches of the Choi continues to expand.

Choi Garden SM Megamall caters to a more mass audience, introducing their casual dining set-up embodying the quality taste of the Authentic Cantonese Cuisine carried by the Choi Garden Brand. The restaurant reeks of a distinct roast duck smell (reminds me of HK) so it felt kind of dining at HK again.

The Cantonese Culinary Team behind Choi Garden are composed of Hong Kong chefs with numerous years in perfecting their craft.  The team is proud to offer their top of line dishes that will surely bring joy to the taste buds of their customers.

Starting from their well-known Peking Duck Roasting, the Live King Steam Fish from their Live Seafood Selections, Large serving of Chinese Baked Rice Meals, Rice Toppings and their Best Selling Dimsum Selection composed of the Best Asado Bun, Steamed Siomai, Steamed Hakaw, Pan Fried Radish Cake, Steamed Chicken Feet, Steamed Beef Ball, Xiao Long Pao, Old Fashion machang, Fried Spring Roll, Steamed Beancurd Roll, Choi Garden Tai Pao and Steamed Spareribs.

I highly recommend the Best Buns, you can get 3 pcs for only P90. Their pork buns are unbelievable. No, seriously, it's like someone from the depths of the world decided that the best way to stuff buns is with perfectly seasoned and tasty pork. It's comforting, delicious and single-handedly the best ones I have ever had.

They are also offering Chinese Cuisine viands good for sharing such as Lemon Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Beef Ribs with Black Pepper Sauce and many more.

Choi Garden Megamall has also introduced a new way to enjoy eating noodles. You can customize your own Shabu-Shabu Noodle Bowl for only P388. You get to choose your type of Noodle (Ramen/Hongkong Noodle/ Hongkong Bihon/ Sotanghan), Soup Base (Double Boiled Pork Bone/ Szechuan Spicy Soup) and Choose 3 Toppings from the selection(Gindara Tofu, Sea Urchin Bun, Squid Ball, Crab Sticks, Fried Squid Cake, Cheese Fish Bun, Mushroom Ball, Braised Pig Knuckle, Asado, Beef Brisket Tendon, HK Beef Ball and HK Curry Fish Ball) and it comes automatically with Soy Egg, Best Asado Bun and Choi Garden House Blend Ice Tea. Majority of the ingredients were imported in Hong Kong to maintain the quality taste.

After my dining experience at Choi Garden, it  has renewed my faith in Chinese food. It's definitely a good place to have a family dinner, or catch up lunch with a group of friends. The prices are so reasonable and the quality of food is leaps and bounds over other Chinese restaurants in the area. For what it is, it's the best.

  1. I haven't tried dining at chinese restaurants. My family was more into buffet restaurants. Though there are chinese dishes served at buffet restos, i seldom get them. I'm very careful when choosing foods to eat because i have a terrible food allergy. Anyway, that Best Buns sure looks yummy! And the peking duck makes me hungry!

  2. With the splendid aroma of spices, garlic, ginger etc. you don't need an appetizer. The taste types are amazing as they include hot, chilli, sweet, sour and salt depending on the cuisines. Phoenix Chinese Restaurant
