Last September 1 to 6, Araneta Center brought one of the quality, top-tier entertainment and much-awaited shows in the country, Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival!
My daughter and I stepped into a world of wonder with Mickey and his pals, along with Disney characters from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story. Maia was mesmerized from the moment the curtain went up, and surprisingly, I was quite amazed too!
The show was directed by Fred Tallaksen, who has worked with superstars such as Madonna and Enrique Iglesias. The stage and set design was spectacular, plus the costumes were all pretty and vibrant. The lighting and audio accompanying the actors brought Disney to life.
I loved the creativity of the production crew and its versatile cast. I'm quite amazed how the cast were able to play different parts in the show, who were singing, rollerblading and dancing to a number of Disney hits remixed to hip hop, pop, swing, reggae, rock, and country, among others.
Princess Jasmine and Aladdin's duet performance was one of Maia's favorite moments. The 90-minute production featured an irresistible lineup of more than 25 Disney stars, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy; Ariel, Sebastian and Ursula; Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie; singing and dancing to popular Disney hits.
Of course, there's Woody, Buzz and Jessie! They're just a few of Maia's favorite Disney characters!
Here's a glitz of the grand finale, when all of the confetti came down. The kids loved it! There was a frolicsome Disney jam session fit for the entire family, but what's sure to pique the interest of viewers was the great venue where this spectacular show was staged.
Kia Theater, formerly known as New Frontier Theater, is a classic landmark of the 60's. It reclaimed its title as the country's premier performing arts venue.
On our way home my 7 y/o said, "Mom, I loved the theatre. I loved Mickey and Minnie too!" Repeat 100x. A definite hit with the little ones. :)
The Kia Theater brought our Disney Live! experience to a whole new level! Good thing Araneta Center brings Disney here in the in the Philippines every year. Filipino parents no longer need to bring their kids to the US, France, Japan or Hong Kong just to see Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters up close and personal.
The ultra-modern theater has a 2,385 seating capacity, equipped with the latest in audio, visual and lighting technologies, which elevates viewing experience to new levels. It also features al-fresco dining restaurants, coffee shops and other retail brands along its perimeter.
I also love the classic yet contemporary, modern design. Kia Theater greets patrons with an elegant drop-off point that opens up to an expansive grand lobby fit for upscale events.
A posh staircase lets everyone view the picturesque Theater Lounge on the mezzanine floor, which is also a perfect venue for meet-and-greet sessions with the stars before and after the show.
Overall, we had a great Disney Live! experience at Kia Theatre and we can't wait to watch another Disney show again next year. We were enchanted by the live performances, and I loved the show as much as my daughter did. Perfect entertainment for the whole family! If you have the chance, please go see the Disney show next year, you wont regret it.
