Dine and Drink with the Stars at Movie Stars Cafe

If you're a hardcore movie buff and you love watching movies while munching some food, then you've probably visited a movie-themed restaurant once in a while.

Movie Stars Cafe is a movie-themed restaurant featuring waiters in Superhero and Villain costumes, with Broadway musical performances. It's where your favorite superheroes come to life. :) It's not just your ordinary restaurant but a place to live up to your wild imagination where your childhood dreams become real.

Located adjacent to SM Mall of Asia, along a strip of bars and restaurants at the Seaside Boulevard in Mall of Asia,  you won't miss it because of its iconic sculpture of a enormous gorilla and a facade designed with Motion Picture Studio-like image plus four giant search lights positioned within the premises visible as far as 4 kilometers away. 

It isn’t just another run-of-the-mill restaurant with a snazzy concept and unique theme that cashes in on old movie props as the main draw. This place looks like a lot of effort went into designing highly-detailed restaurant that truly do put diners into scenes from their favorite film without having to go Hollywood or Universal Studio to enjoy them.

Inside the cafe, there are four big screens & a hundred of monitors playing movies simultaneously with 1,000 special lights that'll give your smorgasbord a movie-themed ambiance. The movie geek in me just burst into happiness seeing those row of autographed pictures of celebrities. It was a film heaven. Kids and kids at heart will surely love this place.

There's an open kitchen and bar counter setup where the buffet is served directly as the food is cooked. The mere thought of having a full-size T-Rex head eyeing diners (and possibly breaking free) is downright cool in my opinion.

You can order food from either the restaurant's Dino buffet or choose from their à la carte dishes, while you watch and enjoy your favorite characters’ shows and Cosplay-like performances. You need to loosen your belt because there are savory munchies to whet your appetite like burgers, Lumpia, Kushi-katsu, Tori Karaage, Chashu, Cheese Sticks and a lot more.

Maia liked the cupcakes and I loved the cake! The best time to go is during dinnertime (6pm-9pm). Below are the rates:

P499 for 6-12 years old
P299 for 3-5 years old
FREE for 0-2 years old
Add P100 Friday, Saturday, Sunday, The day before holidays and holidays.
Add P100 for all you can drink (soda, juice, Iced tea, Coffee or tea, draft beer.)

Movie buffs are sure to enjoy the posters, pictures, and life-sized statues all over the place. The performances were fun and the performers really connected with their audience.

Costumed (cosplayers) heroes-villains are constantly roaming around to interact with everyone and are very approachable. You’ll feel “safe” as Iron Man, Spider Man and other superheroes are present to "protect" the universe and your food. You could also take your picture with them. And it's unlimited so don't forget to bring your camera!

You'll meet V from V for Vendetta, Ghostface from Scream, Spider-Man and his arch-nemesis Venom. Got a picture with Spidey! :)

There are shows and a series of performances every 30 minutes and they are all entertaining especially the Ironmen dancing to the tune of "Gentleman" :) Hilarious!

Overall, it is a one of a kind experience and we really enjoyed the shows and the food. Great for a fun "movie" night out, whether with friends, family, barkada or officemates.
