Celebrities' Take on Bradley-Pacquiao Bout

In what most boxing analysts and boxing fans are calling a highly questionable, bogus and absolutely befuddling, dubious, ridiculous decision by judges in Nevada, Timothy Bradley won a split decision victory over Manny Pacquiao Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Sadly, Pacman's 15-fight winning streak came to a very controversial end.
Pacquiao Vs. Bradley
In other words, the judges of Pacquiao-Bradley bout just pronounced that boxing is dead.  I also think those judges need immediate drug testing. They have officially killed boxing.  Although dubious decisions happen all the time in boxing, I believe boxing needs changes now. I think the WWF has more sport in it than boxing, dontcha think?

What do I have to say about the Pacman-Bradley fight? One word.... Robbery! Oh, let's make it two words... flat-out robbery! I watched the fight and I know that I’m no expert on the art of boxing, but this one was too rigged… unbelievable, rigged results. As for me, Bradley "won" a title, Pacman won the fight!

Celebrities and athletes blurted out their emotions on Twitter to comment on this controversial decision, prolly the biggest upset in boxing history.

The CompuBox statistics favored Pacquiao, who landed more punches than Bradley in 10 of the 12 rounds. Pacquiao landed 253 of 751 punches (34 percent), while Bradley landed 159 of 839 (19 percent). Pacquiao also landed 82 more power shots (190-108). Judge Jerry Roth (115-113) awarded the fight to Pacquiao while CJ Ross (115-113) and Duane Ford (115-113) gave it to the American, but the crowd responded with boos after 12 rounds.

People watched in disbelief and the controversial split decision was met with a chorus of boos from the crowd.

"I accept what the result is," Pacquiao said. "I respect the judges, I cannot blame them. It is a part of the game. I give thanks to the Lord. I do my best but my best wasn't good enough."

The last part sounds like the lovesong. LOL And Bradley can sing a song for Maia to the tune of "Call Me Maybe."

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy. My name is BRADLEY, so hug me MANNY!"

More tweets here from celebrities who aired their disgust over Manny Pacquiao's shocking and stunning loss:

Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis tweeted: "Unbelievable! #PacBradley This is another stain on boxing. Even worse than my draw with Holyfield! #Disgraceful."

@AmirKingKhan: What a joke we had manny winning by 5 rounds. Bradley how about you take the fight with me in December.

"I have the best eye doctor, if the judges go to LA, I will pay for their eye exam," Bob Arum, Top Rank's promoter said. "I've never been ashamed to be part of boxing as I am tonight."

Nelly: - Did this man just say he got to see if he won the fight????even he thought he lost!!!lol”"sheeeshh!!

Reggie Bush  - I can’t believe that decision! One of the biggest upsets in boxing history!!!!!

Shaq – I watched allota fights but that decision was some bs. I wanna see pacqiou vs mayweather I spelled PAC mans name wrong so what lol

Marlon Wayans – I’m protesting boxing Til this is fixed! Do not support this bullshit sport until this is fixed! This is a disrespect to the art.  Dear Bradley if you are half a man u’d knock on Manny Pacquiao’s dressing room and fork over them belts. This shir Bob Arum pulled made Don King say “this is unapostrophied ludicrispiness”!

Busta Rhymes (@BusaBusss): "BRADLEY U CAN'T SLEEP 2NIGHT THE FEEDBACK IS OVERWHELMING ISN'T IT? THE WORLD KNOWS U LOST. DO THE RIGHT THING & GIVE THAT BELT 2 PACMAN!!!"

Bruno Mars (@BrunoMars): "Pac man 4 life."

Jessica Sanchez (@JSanchezAI11): "Congrats to the new winner but I'm still really upset about the results :("

Nick Carter (@nickcarter) sa pagkatalo ni Pacquiao: "I think I may never take boxing seriously after tonight. Manny pacquiao won that fight! Sad day for boxing, I think we should protest!"

Chris Daughtry (@CHRIS_Daughtry): "YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!! PACQUAIO TOTALLY OWNED THAT FIGHT!!!"

There were also tweets from local showbiz personalities.

(@sharon_cuneta12): "MANNY WON. THAT'S MY HUMBLE OPINION. PERIOD."

Sen. Kiko Pangilinan (@kikopangilinan): "Bradley got beat up good by Manny while Manny simply got roughed up a bit. So how did Bradley win?"

From TV host, Christine Babao (@ChristineBBabao): "#Pacman believes he won. He should have won."

Ely Buendia (@elybuendia9000): "I didn’t even watch the fight and I KNOW Manny won."

Tim Yap (@officialTimYAP) "Sometimes in a "cooking” show, you don't always get what you want. Pacquiao is still our champion. Hugs to Manny&Jinkee! #PacBradley."

Pinoy Big Brother host Robi Domingo (@robertmarion): "This boxing match is absolutely nonsense. Bradley didn't throw punches, he didn't box... he wrestled Pacquiao."

Marc Nelson (@QuickOffTheMarc) "my opinion. It was a tough fight & close. I still think manny won. That being said, props to Bradley for a gr8 fight. Fault is the judges."

Ogie Alcasid (@ogiealcasid): "I am still amazed at the sight of Manny praising God in defeat. He is a man of grace.

And there are more tweets... So much rage on my timeline with everyone tweeting Pacman was robbed. Even the Kardashians are fuming. :)

Oh well, I guess the calmest person in this maelstrom was none other than Manny Pacquiao. He handled the loss with great dignity and class and I admire him for that.

What are your thoughts about this, guys? Do you think Manny Pacquiao got robbed point blank? Was that a Mafia thingy?  Is it just all about the money that they can make from a rematch? Do you think it's his own fault for slowing down, not knocking him out and letting Bradley look better?

Hoh well...

Lemme know.

The Doctor is In: Meet the Toy Doctor, Doc McStuffins

I was invited to watch a special sneak preview of Disney Junior’s playful new show, Doc McStuffins, at Active Fun in Bonifacio High Street last Saturday. It was so much fun and my daughter loves Doc. I think it is totally cute! After watching the sneak preview, my daughter was already asking me to buy a Doc toy set. I'd like to buy her one. DVD's and books would be nice too! After the launch of this new Disney series, I expect to see books, party goods, role play toys, and Doc Mcstuffins dolls and accessories. I'm pretty sure this show will be a hit with the kids.

Here's my daughter with her playmates, Kuya LJ and cutie Zeus. The kids had so much fun watching the sneak preview of Doc McStuffins and Maia loved the loots. Actually, the "big kids" enjoyed it as much as the little ones. :)  I really enjoyed the good times that I had with these kids. Those moments are precious. I believe the kids and people who are "kids at heart" have the most fun in life. Agree? :)

Disney Junior’s other hit series like “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” are currently my daughter's favorite Disney shows and surely, Doc McStuffins will join the ranks.  It's funny how my daughter knows all the dances to the shows in Disney Junior. I'm sure she'll be dancing and singing the Doc McStuffins song and giving her little baby toy a checkup soon.

Meet the Toy Doctor, Doc McStuffins
Doc McStuffins is a new show that teaches kids to take care of themselves and others.  It also talks about the importance of good health and compassion. It may also help kids who are nervous about going to the doctor, and settle some of their fears. More often than not, when kids hear that they are going to visit the doctor for a checkup, you can nearly always expect them to run the opposite direction. That includes my daughter, Maia. While they are definitely afraid of the needles and instruments, ultimately, the reason they are scared is because they do not understand what happens in the doctor’s office and why they should go there. This is the issue that Disney Junior hopes to address with the upcoming launch of their new show, Doc McStuffins.

Premiering this July 9, the show puts an animated, kid-friendly twist to visiting the doctor and having checkups. The show puts emphasis on healthy living and encourages your young ones to practice simple hygiene habits such as washing their hands regularly.

This animated series is about a little girl, called Doc.

Now, who is Doc McStuffins? Meet Dottie “Doc” McStuffins, a 6-year old “toy doctor” with a compassionate heart and a knack for healing toys and stuffed animals around her neighborhood. She has the ability to talk to toys once she puts on her stethoscope and runs a doctor’s clinic for toys out of her playhouse. She is helped by her trusted toy friends: Stuffy, an overly proud stuffed dragon; Lambie, a stuffed lamb who loves to cuddle; Hallie, a jolly hippo receptionist; and Chilly, a hypochondriac stuffed snowman.

The doctor is in.
Each episode of Doc McStuffins includes original songs sung by the characters such as the “Time for Your Checkup” song. Additionally, Doc can be seen encouraging toys to not be scared by the doctor’s instruments and even rewarding toys with a sticker once they’ve completed their checkup. During the end credits, Doc also gives advice to its young viewers about staying healthy.

This new Disney Junior original series embodies the hallmarks of Disney’s storytelling—fantasy and wish fulfillment—and communicates to kids a strong sense of community. Furthermore, it teaches them important values such as compassion for people and things, and most importantly, lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it— toys, animals and people.

Let your tots discover what it means to take care of themselves and others with Disney Junior’s new original series, Doc McStuffins.  Doc McStuffins will premiere this July 9, 9:30 am, only on Disney Junior.

Don't miss this! Go visit the Doc soon and get your prescription filled. :)

Surely, your little tot deserves a dose of Doc McStuffins!

A Bit of Gushing: I love Globe!

Excuse me, I'm about to gush.

As newer and even cooler electronic gadgets and nifty devices get released at what seems to be an almost daily rate, I thought of posting about a love affair with my long time lovey, that is Globe. I expected this boom in technology a long time ago. What I didn't expect to find was that the love affair I was planning to write about might actually be ... well, literal?

I'm a long time Globe user for over 10 years in one way or another. I've been using Globe eversince I've had a cellphone. I got the bulky yet trusty Nokia 5110 as my first phone with my first Globe number and from then on, I just went on my merry way. I've met a lot of gadget hoarders and mobile warriors and I felt like I was in the dark ages. I realized that I wanted a more up-to-date and newer phone so I kept changing my phones. Now, I'm using the iPhone4. As time goes by, my phones and the people around me are constantly changing. I dunno why, really. If there is one thing I know, my love for Globe hasn't changed a bit.

I'm in love six ways: (or maybe more)

Strongest signal strength, breakneck broadband speeds plus reliable & fast internet connection
Ultimate accessibility to keep me connected 24/7 to my family and friends
Exciting promos and sweet deals
Interactive online website
Excellent Customer Service
Globe Rewards

In today's overconnected world, I'd have to say... communication, as well as connectivity, is a must!

I can never leave home without my iPhone because I feel stressed-out, cut off from the world and somehow incomplete. Yeah, I guess that sounds a lot like the song or some kind of separation anxiety to me. It amazed me how a simple beep from my vibrating phone can be one of the most powerful, affecting sounds in the world to me, which is only a notch behind the sound of my little girl giggling. :)

What I like most about Globe is the connectivity, the signal strength and Internet speed are consistently superior. You can pull the plug on cable tv or the ac. I can live without them but don't take away my Globe Tattoo because it really slows down my productivity. I guess some people can't sleep because of insomnia but in my case, I can't sleep because I have extremely fast internet connection. I think sleep is for people that don't have internet at home, right? :) Seriously, I consider myself lucky for having Globe and I really feel bad about our neighbor who is currently using another broadband provider because I can rap faster than her internet connection. Sheesh!

Aside from a stable relationship, I think it's also important to have a wifi and stable internet connection. Globe has become my BFF, partner, lifeline, companion and, yes, even a Valentine. The man I love most may be seated across in a romantic resto, but his Globe Tattoo-powered, 16gb rival lies inside my pocket. :)

Tatto@Home makes me connected to my family and friends 24/7. Globe has the best coverage and fastest internet connection. I'm "blown away" by the network speed, which is good enough to do the job like video or audio streaming whilst editing video works just fine, with a bit of torrenting or downloading large files on the side. That being said, I'm very satisfied with Globe. I love the service I get.  Internet speed is a tad faster than any other networks. Some networks are just horrible in our area. So bad that my mom had to switch from Pfft to Globe.

I love Globe's *143# menu simply because makes availing promos a breeze. I don't have to memorize keywords anymore and they always have exciting promos and contests.

I also love their interactive website. http://www.globe.com.ph/ You can simply visit their website and see what they have to offer and then do some serious shopping online of the latest phones in no time.

As far as I'm concerned, Globe's customer service is exceptional. Talk2Globe online support teams are always there to assist you 24/7. I love the fact I can easily chat on the web or via Yahoo! Messenger or by simply reaching them through Facebook, Twitter or by email.

So far, I can happily admit that I am something of a Globe fan girl. It was unlikely there was anything Globe could have done that would have upset me. In the end, it has everything I expect from their services, and eventhough I've heard some complaints about them from some friends, I am completely happy with it.

My love for Globe is unconditional, and so are Globe rewards. I'm consistently checking my points and seriously contemplating on what reward I like the most then I just go ahead and redeem it. So easy!

It seems like a whole new generation is being primed to explore and navigate the world of technology. That includes my daughter who also loves Globe. Please check the link HERE to know how greatness starts at home with my little girl's moment of achievement.

If you are like me, then you have a passion for Globe and all the endless possibilities you could do with Globe. And hey, what's not to love? Breakneck broadband speed, a ridiculous number of sweet deals, hundreds of phone options, affordable broadband services, and a single monthly bill. Ok, the last one is not that exciting because I'm allergic to bills but I'm sure you all got the point. :) News flash: I chose Globe and I chose well.

Ok, enough gushing already. If you want to enjoy Globe and have something to uncontrollably gush on like I do, you have to choose Globe. :) Look, you are not going to be walking down the street and have wonderful Globe deals thrown at you. It just won't happen! You gotta have it to love it.

So spread the love. Enjoy your Globe, your way!

Just In: Sizzle this Season in Naturalizer's Sexy Sandals

Sexy sandals are a must for all women... that sexy saleslady, the hot mom, or that pretty barista at the coffee shop. If you ask me why, well it's simply because sexy sandals can make a world of difference on a woman’s feet.

Sexy sandals have the power to make even the stockiest Prometheus leg look endlessly long and sexy. Additionally, walking in sexy sandals make women feel taller, confident, and sexy.  They also make women's feet look smaller and legs look longer and firmer at the same time.

Note to women: Not all sandals look sexy and wearing sandals that look like baskets or boats are not attractive... AT ALL!

So what do women want in sandals?

Naturalizer knows what women want in sandals. It truly understands how truly comfortable footwear can help them move easily through their day and make the most of their time.

Naturalizer is prized for its exclusive N5 comfort system: extra comfort, breathable linings, balance with every step, flexible soles and lightweight materials. This season, sandals get even sexier and more glamorous as Naturalizer offers more options for the woman who travels, strolls, works or just lounges around.

Whether you want them flat, wedge, strappy or heeled, there’s something for every footwear fanatic. Naturalizer carries sandals with dainty names like Ladell Paparazzi, Lila Platina, Fira, Gabbi Banana, Joany and Tahira.

Naturalizer sandals bring a modern, dressier and urban vibe to every outfit you will fancy wearing. Sandals can better show off your exquisitely painted toe nails. They can also flaunt such attention-grabbing accents as bows, rhinestones or beads, color-blocked straps or tribal patterns.  They definitely can be dressed up or down depending on your mood.

Naturalizer is available at Naturalizer outlets in Alabang Town Center, SM Mall of Asia, Robinson’s Place Manila, Glorietta 4, Shangrila Plaza Mall, Bldg. B of SM Megamall, Robinson’s Galleria, Gateway Mall, Trinoma, The Block SM North EDSA, Marquee Mall, SM Cagayan de Oro, SM Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu, SM Davao and at Abreeza Mall Davao.
No wonder Naturalizer is inspiring women to live their lives and love their shoes in more than 60 countries around the world.  The beloved brand remains committed to designing beautiful footwear that feels as good at the end of the day as they did at the start.

Dear ladies, just a quick reminder: make sure your sandals fit your feet perfectly and let's not have your toes be hanging off your sandals. You might also want to have your  feet pedicured-ready and  toes painted before wearing those sexy sandals. :)

Rain or shine, Naturalizer has a collection of sandals with some of the most covetable styles that'll make your feet look gorgeous in no time!

Sumo Sam Gateway Opens in a Great, Big Way Today

SumoSam... Champion Eater... Legendary Fighter...

The legend of SumoSam began one spring when the finest Sumo Wrestlers in all of Japan awoke to the vigorous resonance of migrating cranes flying high towards mighty Mt. Fuji. As the legend says, the champion fighter Sumo Sam always received a grand banquet in his honor every time he fought with other Japanese Sumo Wrestlers. He is known as the Champion Eater, Legendary Fighter.

He is the icon that is carried by the Sumo Sam, the Japanese Restaurant that desires its guests to feel like champions by combining different techniques and elements of international cooking and integrating it to Japanese Cuisine.

And today, the legendary fighter finds a new home in Gateway Mall. It has now opened its doors at the 2nd floor of The Gateway Mall, in Cubao, Quezon City.

Salute to the 3 great minds behind Sumo Sam: Mr. Raymund Magdaluyo; Mr. Ricky Laudico and, celebrated actor and restaurateur Mr. Marvin Agustin. Together with renowned chefs: The Chef of the stars - Chef Florabel Co-Yatco; Chef Nikki Nicolas, pioneer batch of CCA and Chef Benjamin Gonzalez, this young and determined group of business entrepreneurs has already achieved a total of 11 Sumo Sam stores all over the archipelago, and is still rapidly growing the business, and will close 2012 with over 20 branches.

The hands-on restaurateur and Sumo Sam owner, Mr. Marvin Agustin, with SumoSam's fab, indefatigable Marketing Manager and pole dancer extraordinaire, Miss Tina Andrea Papera.

Instead of the usual ribbon cutting ceremony, the cutting of the ginormous tuna sushi led by Mr. Marvin Agustin, marks the grand opening of Sumo Sam Gateway. Sumo Sam offers Japanese food with a Western flair. Hmmm.. talk about creating Japanified American food or maybe some Americanized Japanese food. Either way, it's yummy!

So long, you can tell the Sushi Chef put in a lot of effort to make it.  :)
Ready, set, slice!

I admire how cool and talented Marvin is. Ah.. and handsome as always. :)

On to the highlights of the event... Food tasting! :)

Spoon and fork ready... Chopsticks ready!

After the ceremonial cutting of tuna sushi, everyone had a bite.
It's definitely a great sushi and one BIG bite to remember.
Attack of the orange sushi rolls!
Attack! :)
Sumo Sam Gateway Branch boasts of ever-so-popular selection of grilled seafood and steaks, rolls, sushi, tonkatsu, with its top 3 best sellers such as ebi tempura, beef teppan, and chicken teriyaki, providing a high quality, Japanese dishes in a generous Western serving.

For Yori-Kiri Starters, I've tried the Fried Gyoza and Vegatable Kakiage.

Fried Gyoza with  dip
It's slick, it's yummy, it's tasty, but most of all, it's heaps of fun.
Vegetable Kakiage
This one is surprisingly good! I really love these crispy vegetable fritters. Kakiage is a tempura dish with mixed vegetable strips that were deep fried well and  absolutely delicious when paired with the dipping sauce provided.
Then immediately following the Yori-Kiri Starters were tasty, yummy dishes like Chicken teriyaki, Ebi tempura and Japanese Fried rice.

Chicken Teriyaki.
The sauce is delicious and the meat is tender, very
tasty and satisfying.
Ebi tempura
It is tastier and bigger than most of us would get at similar Japanese restaurants. Love it!

Japanese fried rice
This fried rice is one of my personal favorites!
Definitely the best fried rice I've had in the metro... very delicious!

Bacon Dory
One of SumoSam's grand champions where you can taste the authentic Japanese flavor. Winner!

Yakisoba
So yummy, it's so easy to slurp down.
SumoSam's Pride Salad

This is really good, although I would have liked it to have more mangoes just because I love mangoes to bits! Haha The flavors worked well with each other and the mango gave it a very nice sweet taste that complemented well with the lettuce, tomatoes and some nuts.

A great plate of  assorted Tuna and Salmon Sashimi with some fresh lemons and wasabi on the side.
Fresh and flavorful!
For serious sushi eaters. That's the way to go...

They also have a plate of assorted sushi and sashimi mix.
So what did Sashimi A say to Sushi B?
Wasabi! (Wassup B?) :)
Har. Har.
I'm not a sashimi or sushi eater, or maybe I just don't like sushi. I love Jap food for its simplicity, uniqueness and art. Nothing raw though. But according to my blogger friend who loves sushi, it is as fresh as it gets, as if its fresh taste just jumps out at you!

The Gateway branch has a 100-seating capacity dining area. I love the funky yet swanky, classy interiors,  and upbeat ambiance.  Lighting on the warm and soft side, with Asian-themed walls and cool Japanese artifacts. It's a comfortable feeling and for some reason, there's a kind of quaint and romantic feeling to me. So yeah, it's a great first date place! Also, the lunch menu has lots of different options to gorge yourself on. Their food on a large, ceramic plate  is beautifully presented and will easily feed two or three people.

For the service, Sushi chefs are all smiles, just like the rest of the staff. It'll make you feel  like you can come here and feel like they'll remember you forever. The staff is always attentive without being bothersome... which I really like.

My verdict?  Everything is pretty good. Taste and quality are unsurpassed and lest I forget, it's one of the most authentic-tasting Japanese restaurants I've been to. Now I know why the owners were not afraid to pick such a busy and popular location like Gateway. They really have something to brag about!  Yes, it's a bit pricey and a tad bit more expensive compared to the other budget sushi restaurants in the area, but such is the price for awesomeness and authenticity. It isn't the cheapest, but I don't mind indulging every once in awhile. On the other hand, it isn't the most expensive either and for the quality and quantity of their food plus excellent customer service, the price is quite reasonable!

The last time I had a dinner at Sumo Sam Shangri-la, I was expecting to fork over at least a half more than I did, and I was pleasantly surprised. Quite frankly, it was the best and most affordable Japanese food I've had so far. I would overall rate this between Very Good and Incredibly Yummy, leaning more towards Incredibly Yum.

Would I recommend? That's a deep-fried YES. :)

Here's what we munched on at Sumo Sam Shangri-la:

I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I love their Tonkatsu and California Rolls. Best of all, the Salmon Ankake is every Champion's ultimate reward. God bless the Japanese! ;)

Gahhh leee... my tummy's rambling while I'm blogging this. Amazing Kani rolls and Spicy Tuna Salad would be nice right about now.

So guys, there's still plenty of time go get your grub on at Sumo Sam. For more information on new offers, visit the Facebook Page Sumosam.
