PLDT myDSL & Nuffnang bring you The Avengers!

Nuffnangers unite as PLDT myDSL and Nuffnang Philippines will have an exclusive screening of The Avengers on April 26, Thursday, 8:30pm at the Shangri-La Cineplex! Clearly you see that I'm rather excited for this and I just can't hide it! Haha It's silly how excited I am for the Avengers coming out!!

Just realized after seeing a trailer, I'm more excited about the Avengers movie than my birthday and I have not been more excited about a movie since the third LOTR. :)

Speaking of PLDT myDSL, I just found these cutie patootie videos of PLDT myDSL’s ‘Anna Banana’ commercial. Check it out guys!

I really like this song about Anna Bo-na-na because it's super cute and hella funny at the same time! Derek Lorenzo really looks like David Archie and he's so charming. If he was in any other commercial, I would still find it cute or funny no matter what.

Here's the Anna Banana Original Song by Derek S. Lorenzo

It was the cheesiest commercial I have ever seen in a while. :)

"Anna Banana! I love you a lot." ♥

"Anna Banana! I love you a bunch. I'll dance like your monkey if we go for lunch. Anna Banana! Baby, AY LABYU A LAT!" -___-

He wrote this song for the awesomest girl in his class. How cute is that? :) The lyrics is incredibly cute!  So simple yet catchy and so cheesy! My daughter keeps randomly singing this Anna bo-na-na song today. Haha Makes me remember that moment (yep, that was a loooong time ago) when I was a teenager and I was so happy because I had the perfect seat in class...where I was surrounded by my biggest crush, a smart person, & a really cool funny kid. :) Even now that I'm all grown up, I still have that love-hate relationship with my crushes.  I hate having a crush on someone because it makes me feel childish and I feel like a kid! But I love it because it also brings out the kid in me again. :) I must be the only 30-turning-31-year-old kid on the planet.  :)

And guess what guys? It's over 1 million hits now and here's his "Thank you video" for all those who watched the vid. :)

FYI guys, these videos are best viewed on PLDT myDSL. And here's the good news! PLDT myDSL Plan 1299 is now upgraded to 1Mb from the previous 768Kb. So expect faster and more reliable Internet connection!

And for those who are subscribers of Plan 990, you may upgrade your subscription to Plan 1299 by simply adding P300 to your monthly bill. It's definitely worth it!  For more information, go to Go ahead and watch these vids! :)

Enjoy! :)

Barkada Bonding Moments Plus a Chance to Win an iPhone 4S With Max's 4Sharing Meals

We all know for a fact that we, Filipinos, love to eat out and if there are two things that young Filipinos love to share, it will be food and bonding moments with our friends. This is what homegrown fast casual dining restaurant Max’s brings to the table with its latest group meal offering, “4Sharing Meals.” Their new campaign seeks to create unique and memorable experiences for diners, regardless of their age, gender and lifestyle.

I attended the media launch of Max’s 4Sharing Meals yesterday that was hosted by Chico, Delamar and Gino. They unveiled  Max's 4Sharings Meals that will officially start on April 15.

4Sharing is the most affordable meal bundle that Max’s has offered to the public at an affordable price of PhP 799 or a total savings of PhP187.

Max's Fried Chicken! Sarap to the Bones!
Max’s will be offering a sumptuous spread of one whole, regular, sarap-to the-bones Fried Chicken, a bowl of piping hot Sinigang, four servings of rice, and four glasses of iced tea to customers dining in groups of four.

Happy tummy from Max's pork sinigang :) It's my all time favorite!
What makes Max’s new offering even more exciting is that customers may choose from a variety of Sinigang favorites; Sinigang na Baboy, Sinigang na Tyan ng Bangus, Sinigang na Hipon, and Sinigang na Tyan at Ulo ng Salmon.

“Max’s 4Sharing Campaign is about understanding and responding to the needs of our customers, whether they are groups of teenagers hanging out together, young professionals meeting up for lunch, or seasoned Max’s customers craving for their favorite comfort dishes. With Max’s new offering, they get the best of everything – delectable dishes that are signature to Max’s at the most budget-friendly price, so they can enjoy and share these meals to their heart’s content,” enthused Edgar Allan Caper, Marketing Director for Max’s Restaurant.

“We have observed that Filipinos love to dine in small groups of three or four, and that they love to pair Max’s Fried Chicken with heirloom dishes like Sinigang. Max’s 4Sharing was specifically created for these customers. The generous serving, the scrumptious dishes and the value-for-money aspect create the perfect ingredients for our customers to fully engage in bonding moments with their friends and families,” Caper added.

“The sight of young people digging into their favorite Max’s Fried Chicken, the reverberating sound of laughter, the never ending stories about adventures, heartbreaks, dreams and milestones - these are the priceless components of Max’s 4Sharing Meals. We want to nurture these and create more unforgettable memories for our customers by offering the best food, the most welcoming ambience and quality service that comes from the heart,” Caper shared.

 But wait, there's more... :)

Max's is taking the excitement level one notch higher and has cooked up the biggest surprise for its young, hip and technologically-savvy customer base. Max’s leveraged on its official website, as a platform to launch its 4Sharing Meals. The hottest iPhone 4S units will be up for grabs, with 4 weekly online raffle winners, for a period of 8 weeks! So that'll be a total of 32 brand spanking new iPhone 4S to be given away!

Jessica Sanchez Got Eliminated from American Idol But Saved by the Judges

What's more shocking news than North Korea epic fail missile launch?

It's Jessica Sanchez getting eliminated from AI...almost! :)

The judges used their "one save" to keep her on the show. And boy, the way Jessica Sanchez was dramatically saved by the judges was really heart warming. I almost cried.. and that shocking moment gave me chills and goosebumps all over! :)

This week's results of "American Idol Season 11" came as a shocker when judges gave their only save to Filipino-Mexican finalist, Jessica Sanchez, as she got the lowest number of votes in this week's elimination round. So glad she's staying, thanks to Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler who used their only "save" power for the season on her.

It was her first time to be included in the bottom 3. Joining her were Elise Testone and for the first time, Joshua Ledet, who is a judge favorite. As Jessica was singing the song "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" by Deborah Cox for her sing-for-your-life performance, Jennifer Lopez went onstage, grabbed the mic from Jessica and stopped her from singing. Yay! They saved her!

I'm glad she was saved because I would like to see more performances! I' m a huge fan of  Jessica Sanchez, she has the voice and the charisma. Humble. That's what makes her a real star.

"This is crazy! You're not going home! We're using the save! Gimme that mic! Go sit down! " - Jennifer Lopez (as she grabbed the mic from Jessica)

"This is one of the best singers in America ..... Are you kidding me? Everybody, please, vote for the best!” - Randy Jackson

As shocking as the results of the elimination, Jessica was not surprised about the results this week. "I don't expect anything. Whatever happens happens, and I just want people to know that I've been working hard my entire life."

So there you go, we still have the Top 7. They are Sanchez, Testone, Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh, Phillip Phillips, Skylar Laine, and Colton Dixon. But because of Jessica's save, 2 contestants will be going home next week. I sure hope it's not Jessica!

Please do vote for Jessica next week people. We all know she's incredibly talented and she deserves a spot in the finals. Vote for the best. :)

For us, Filipinos, who wants to vote for Jessica Sanchez, we can use Skype or MagicJack 10am & 1pm every Thursday Manila Time!

How? DIAL the # given after Jessica's performance. For Skype, I think you need credits to do that unlike in Magicjack, it's free. :)

So let's go for it guys! Jessica Sanchez ftw! Pinoy pride!

It's More Fun in the Philippines: Summer is Definitely Hotter and More Fun in Boracay

It's sad to see nature fade away little by little because of commercialism, just as what is happening now to two of the favorite summer destinations in the Philippines, Baguio and Boracay. I'm pretty sure there is a way for us to balance nature and commercialism though. Yet it's just sad what commercialism has done to these fave summer destinations. *sigh* Sad thing about nature and commercialism. :(

For the meantime, let's just think about the brighter side of things. :) So I'm about to blog more about a paradise, otherwise known as Boracay.

Aside from my bed, Boracay is one of my favorite places in the whole wide universe. It's all fun, sun, the beach, no drama, no frills. I love it to bits but would love it more if it was a little closer to Manila. :) Read  my first blog post about Boracay here.

Check out our most recent pics.

Someone's sleeping.. :) Zzzzz...
Rockin' Boracay with my fam bam!
Me and my babycakes! :)
That's my girl!

Ok.. Enough with camwhoring. :)

There's a lot of  fun things that you should be doing in Boracay aside from beach bumming and getting a tan. And I'm going to tell you why you should consider a Boracay summer vacay in the Philippines. Here are just some of the things you can do in Boracay.

Let's start with the most important and one of the best things in Boracay: FOOD!!!! ^.^

Go grab some corn or isaw.

Don't forget to eat  longga burger or choriburger and eat at Smoke 1 & 2,  Epic bar, Kraft's, Aria, Jammers and Cyma. The food at Cyma is still as delish since the time I first tried it when they just opened in Boracay.  You can also try the Mongolian grill by the beach. Try Jonah's mocha rhum shake or their banana choco peanut shake. The freshness, smoothness and the taste are just so perfect! It hunts me!

Whoopsie, don't forget to try the sinful dessert from Zuzuni, the chocolate sin by Mati. Loved it! :) And take home some calamansi muffins from Real Coffee too!

Get your grub on at Zucchero's Cafe! The clubhouse sandwich plus spag and mango shake is a great combo!

Maia's looking at some yummy desserts at Zucchero's Cafe. The red velvet cake is yum!

Then what comes after eat? Sleep?! Yes? :)
Sleep. Sleep. and more sleep.
Did I say sleep? Haha Just 'cause we love to sleep longer than usual after a whole day of fun under the sun!

My favorite hotels/ places to stay in Boracay are Patio Pacific, Red Coconut and Boracay Regency. If you're on a tight budget, go for Tan's or Island Nook at Station 2 and in White Beach de Boracay at Station 3.  Tried and tested! Highly recommended!  :)

Buy some ubong or pasalubong at the D'Mall or better yet, at the market in Station 3, it's cheaper there.

Have a henna tatoo. Have you been dying to have a tatoo which you can change the design or remove afterwards? Yeah, Henna Tatoo is the solution for that. Many stalls along the beach are offering this service. Price ranges form 100-500 pesos depending on the design. Just haggle! hagg;e! haggle!

Pose at the sand castles and have snapshots and pictures beside it (for a fee off course, which is negotiable) So when you see a sand castle, be ready to take a shot with your friends or family.

Watch the sunset.Cheap yet fun way of enjoying Boracay.. a magnificent view of the Sun as it sets down and pave its way to the moon :-) Just make sure you have our camera ready to get a shot of this beautiful masterpiece.

Go shopping by the beach.. you'll find lots of shops at D Mall and D Talipapa... It's everywhere... Buy your snacks and whatnots at Budget mart near D'Mall! :)

Watch the fire dancers do their stuff. Quite impressive!!

Have a relaxing massage by the beach.  The best massage to be had outside of a spa is those masseurs who works on the beach that specializes in Swedish massage, shiatsu, acupressure etc, and charges P300-350 per hour. They have a bed for you to lie on and will tailor the massage to suit you. Don't be afraid to ask for a harder or softer massage. Go in the evening, as watching the sunset while getting a massage is an absolute must! Room service is also available. we tried both! ;p

ATV or Buggy or bug car to Mt. Luho Mt Luho is worth the trip if your in the area. It is the highest peak of Boracay Island that offers adventurers to an easy to moderate trek/climb and offer a panoramic view of the island. There's a view deck made of bamboo at its peak for an unobstructed view. Get there , either with Tricycle, a horse ride or with atv or buggy rides <--Buggy or bug car ATV to Mt. Luho

I had the opportunity to ride ATVs (all terrain vehicles) in action on Boracay Island racing with tricycles and bug cars (either 1 or two seaters) and all I can say is....

This is fun! Prices range from P500-600 Philippine Pesos per person. Bug car is much higher, ranging PhP 1000-1200.

Visit the Butterfly garden to see beautiful butterflies, beautiful owl and endangered fruit bats Take pics of the butterflies and watch the fruit bats as they show off their huge pangs. A really spectacular sight - their pangs are much bigger than you might imagine. Take a tour of this beautiful little butterfly garden on Bolabog Beach and see some of the many different species of Philippine flora and fauna. Entrance: PhP 60.00 per person.

Parasailing is one famous activity in the island. A little bit pricey but its worth a try. You'll have a bird's eye view of white beach and the whole island of boracay. Price per person is USD50 or around 2,500 in peso. You can bargain upto 1,500 pesos and it's much cheaper during off-peak season. You can do single or double like the one we did. wink

Paraw sailing... enjoy the boracay sunset on a paraw (local boat) Sailing a paraw can be an exhilarating ride on a windy day, or a gentle, relaxing cruise in calm weather. Sailboats are environmentally friendly, and it is much nicer without the noise and stench of an engine chugging away.
Prices range from P500-1000 Philippine Pesos per hour.

Swim at Station 3 Although the bars, hotels and life of the party are in Stations 1 and 2, when you want a less crowded area and more privacy for beach activities like swimming, snorkeling, sun tan, etc. Station 3 is the best since it is farthest by the crowded and congested Stations 1 and 2. You can walk the 800 meter distance to station 3 or hire a tricycle (cost is 7 pesos a person, more expensive if it's special), either way, you can expect more privacy and the sands are finer!

Reef walking or helmet diving...  this is so much fun!!! You get to feed the fishes.. better do it in the morning though because the fishes are still famished and starving for pandesal at that time LOL

under water kung fu fighting <--reef walking last August 2009 Prices range from P400-500 Philippine Pesos during off peak season per person.

It'a a bit higher on peak season, around 500-750 ( peak season is usually from March-May). Ride the Zorb This is the newest and hippest activity in Boracay and all I can say is: Wow! Can you imagine how much fun it is riding down a hill inside a giant ball? It's awesome! It's a 3 meter giant plastic ball and you climb inside and ride down the hill. The park is located in Yapak. It's super fun for all ages and affordable. Prices range from P300-580 Philippine Pesos per person.

This is me and my friends Ate Sha and Rhyme...
Way back in 2004... How time flies!

Oh well...

Boracay will always be Boracay. This place never gets old.

We were patiently waiting for our food..  :) Was it worth the wait? Certainly yes.

So when was the last time you relax and unwind at the beach? If it's been ages, why don't you try going to Boracay this summer?! Who doesn't love a whole lotta fun on the beach?! Uhmm..  That said, it's REALLY MORE FUN in Boracay with the family! :)
