Preggy Update: 36 weeks and counting..

From BabyCenter.com
Your baby is still putting on the pounds — about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds and is a little less than 19 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the creamy substance that covered and protected her skin during its submersion in amniotic fluid. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, which will stay in her bowels until birth. This blackish mixture, called meconium, will become her first bowel movement.
Congratulations! By the end of this week, your pregnancy will have come full term -- meaning your baby can be born any day now. (Babies born before 37 weeks are premature or pre-term, and those born after 42 weeks are post-mature or post-term.) All babies are different but a typical 37 week-old weighs 2.86kg/6.30lb.

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I'm in the final stage of my pregnancy. My emotions are mostly going in many different directions plus I'm really finding it next to impossible to sleep in any type of comfort. Whew! My baby has been having hiccups everyday and every night, and her kicking is getting a lot stronger as she runs out of space. It's getting harder to get comfy especially at night when it's time to go to sleep and I seem to be staying up later... Not that I'm complaining (again! for the umpteenth time! lol) but aside from being sleep-deprived and feeling heavy, part of me wants to try every thing to get the baby out, it hurt so bad my side hurts because my baby stays on one side more than the other and that I have to pee a lot. But of course, at 36 weeks the baby is still considered pre-term so I have no other choice but to wait at least another week until she's considered a full term. I think it's going to be the longest week ever...

Anyhoo, my baby is mostly very active at night and there is no way to describe the beauty of seeing that small baby moving inside of me. It's moments like this that are treasured forever, and it makes everything worth going through. *sigh* It also makes me realized that I have onlt a few weeks left to cherish the feeling of how it is to have a baby moving inside my tummy, constantly reminding me that I'm not alone. So here's a simple poem for my baby before she finally decided to get out of my tummy. Oh yes, I'm kinda inspired again and my pregnancy horrormones are kickin' the hell out of me! again!

Counting your kicks and turns and talking on the phone,
I am constantly reminded that I am not alone.
Little tiny hands, a precious rounded knee
pushing and twisting that no one can see.
Oh my sweetie kicking up your heels,
it is our little secret that only I can feel.
I look forward to your birth,
when I can kiss your skin,
but for now I will just smile,
As I feel you play within.

Few more weeks left and I'm getting more anxious, excited and a little bit scared each day but I'm just thinking that no matter how much it hurts, there is no point to be scared and I will have to deliver my baby!! one way or the other.. she is supposed to get out right?? lol

Considering myself round, ripe and beautiful (ahem!) by this point in time! and the fact that I'm feeling a bit large and cumbersome, but I just keep in mind that I only have a few short weeks left until I deliver my baby. But it still annoys me when some people like my bro keeps on telling me how big I am! amp! Sometimes I feel like I just want to punch him in the face and tell him that "At least I made somebody's heart and brain today and how about you? What did you do??" ugh! I can't stand him! lol or maybe I can go back to the fat lady who told me that I have a huge tummy. I want to tell her that she's huge too and she doesn't even have an excuse of another person living inside her tummy except all the fats and foods she ate! eew! lol How mean and beeyotch can I get! hehe Naaaah... that's nothing serious.. really! I just got carried away! wahehe Pregnancy is an emotional and physical roller coaster so please bear with me for a few more weeks eh? *wink*
