Preggy Update: 34 weeks in the making!

This is my 34th week of being preggy and my baby Chanelle is the size of a football and she's practicing to be a kicker! aww! and look, it's pink! *wink~wink*
"Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is probably almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which she'll need to regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her central nervous system is still maturing and her lungs are well developed by now. If you've been nervous about going into preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that 99 percent of babies this age can survive outside the womb — and most have no major long-term problems related to prematurity."
"Maternal calcium intake is extremely important during pregnancy because during the pregnancy, the baby will draw calcium from the mother to make and harden bone. If a pregnant woman doesn't get enough calcium during pregnancy, it can greatly weaken her own bones and teeth because the developing fetus will take minerals from the mother's skeletal structure as needed.

Meanwhile, your baby's adrenal glands have grown and are producing hormones that stimulate lactation. The vernix coating on the baby's skin is becoming thicker, whereas lanugo hair is almost completely gone.

Babies born at 34 weeks usually have fairly well-developed lungs, and their average size of 5 pounds (2250 grams) and 12.6 inches (32 centimeters) allows them to survive outside the womb without extensive medical intervention, although oxygen might be needed for a few days."

Her lungs continue to develop up until about week 37, when she is considered to be in the range of “full term”. I hope she's still head down until that full term stage. Speaking of which, I can't wait til my next check up on Wednesday. I want to know how my baby is doing inside my tummy. I bought a medicine box for my vitamins so I won't forget taking them. I’m also really bad about taking my iron supplement partly because it tastes like blood and I hate gagging it down.

Things I love this week: I was so glad when my mom bought the Winnie the pooh beddings that I've been eyeing for a week now. I never really noticed how cute she is until now. err.. is it she or he? Do you know Winnie the Pooh's gender? hehe

I also love the Banoffee Pie of Red Ribbon! uhuh! I'm trying to start the new year right by trying not to get stressed so according to my stress-free formula, it's DESSERTS= STRESSED spelled backwards lol and so, I therefore conclude that in order to destressed, you have to eat some desserts! haha (makes sense to me!) Though my sis was telling me Starbucks has a yummier, tastier banoffee pie to indulge with so I'm thinking that maybe she should bring me a slice home next week lol I'm so excited! yummers!

Things I hate this week: That I can't over-eat or self-indulge too much with those yummy pies coz my blood sugar could go up again.way up! Just looking at its creamy whipped cream makes it sinful already! lol And what I really hate this week is the scorching heat at noon! Is it really hot in here or is it just me?? wahaha Lastly, I really don't like it when other people tell me some undeniably annoying things on a recurring basis...like how big I am right now (Hellooo! can't you see I'm pregnant?!) I mean, pointing it out is sooo annoying and downright ugly. This is a human being you’re talking to, not a baby machine! If you don’t know what to say, then don’t say anything at all. amp! Now I'm getting stressed...again! I hafta to eat some cake! lol kidding!

  1. Hahaha.. I've always wondered what gender Winnie the Pooh is too.. I mean, why the name Winnie for a male? And why no pants?? LOL!

And yes, not too long ago, people were commenting that "Wow, you've put on sooo much weight!" What do you expect from an almost full term pregnant lady?? as you said, it gets really annoying!

Anyways, hope you're revelling in the glow that only pregnant women have!! :D

And HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and family!!
