Toys "R" Us Launches Bring Toys Back to Life Campaign: Saving Lives with Toys

We all know the horrifying pain that can only come from stepping on a small block of Lego. You know that feeling as though you are dying from the shooting pain. The pain scale is 7/10 and I just can't forget the pain. I was thinking of throwing all the blocks away, as well the other pre-loved toys that my kids no longer find joy in. But I remembered Yuan's favorite movie, Toy Story, and I realized that they don't have to be thrown away. Where would they end up? Garbage cans? Thrift stores? On the street?

Good thing  Toys“R”Us  recently launched its campaign entitled “Bring Toys Back to Life” in partnership with Caritas Manila and Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces. Aside from saving moms like me from endless frustration of thinking where to put all the toys that their kids don’t play with anymore, they can also help Caritas Manila’s Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program Scholars. Your toy donation will make a huge difference!

Also, seeing my kids grow up to be a loving, kind and generous person is the most fulfilling thing as a parent. That is why I wanted my kids to learn the value of sharing early, and he started that a few days ago when we donated some of their old toys at Toys R us store, and hopefully, they can bring more smiles across the faces of more kids.

So if  your home is running out of space, and the kids’ toys are piling up, why don’t you donate them at Toys”R”Us stores within Metro Manila and Nearby provinces? Instead of throwing these things away, give pre-loved toys a new lease of life by donating for a worthy cause from now until November 30. Each toy will help your the youth achieve their dreams! Drop by TRU stores and start donating!

Whether big or small, there's a handful of other ways to help.  We can all be the superheroes the world needs. Also, these little acts of kindness contribute to a bigger purpose or a greater good.

During the event, Toys”R”Us also donated Php250,000 worth of toys to Caritas Manila.

That being said, I'm glad I was able to join the volunteers, Toys”R”Us Heroes, Presidents of Play Kianna and Aleksi and YSLEP scholars who restored the preloved toys through a one-day Toy Restoration Workshop held at Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces last August 3, 2019.

Of course, we have to check and sort out the preloved toys that are complete, clean, free from damage and in working order. So we checked the batteries, and followed all the steps from cleaning the toys to tagging with Caritas Tags.

The re-conditioned toys will be sold at Caritas Segunda mana outlets and proceeds will go to Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) Scholars of Caritas Manila to help them finish their college education. 🎓

What makes this campaign special is that anyone can help make the world better in their own little way. Toys”R”Us encourages adults and kids alike to take heroic steps to create a more sustainable world for future generations! Toy donations will go a long way to save lives. So if you found an old toy and you would love to see them given a new life, please drop them to the Toys”R”Us stores. Please share and spread the love on social media to get the word out.
