2 Things You Never Knew About #MyCetaphilBaby

I lived alone and moved a few times during my first two years of college. Then 5 years after, I graduated, got my license as a physical therapist, completed a seminar and work in a hospital right after.

But the most awesome (yet unplanned) part? I made a human! :) Motherhood changed my life in a moment and of everything I have experienced in my 37 years of life, motherhood has possibly taught me the most. About perseverance, about patience, sacrifice and about myself.

Seeing my kids happy makes me realize that this is what it's all about! It's the little things that make all the difference, making the simple joys of life into happier ones. Over the last years, I've seen how motherhood changed my priorities.

And I don't mind one bit.

The health and well-being of my children comes before anything else, even myself. From my personal needs to taking care of my kids, from bathing, feeding to choosing the products that I use on my baby's skin that is super sensitive. I always make sure that I give only the best for my kids. With the Cetaphil Baby skin care line, I'm 100% sure that I'm able to give the utmost care for my baby.

Today, I'm sharing two things about Yuan, my Cetaphil baby.

  • 1.  He REALLY likes bath time. I don't get super excited over bath time as he does (well, maybe if there are bath bombs and wine involved) but I really love watching him while he's splashing in the bath, with suds bubbling all over his chubby folds, arms and legs!
As a mom, I’m putting a lot of thought into what’s going onto my baby’s skin. I even check the reviews online and ask feedback from my friends. I mean, we all know that our skin is our largest organ. And baby’s skin is so sensitive, and delicate. I want to be sure that the products that I am choosing are safe and going to protect and nourish his skin. I'm using Cetaphil Baby line for my baby because I love just how gentle and nourishing their products are.

I also checked the ingredients, and I love that their products are paraben free, mineral oil free, hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested.  Did you know that Cetaphil Baby is the #1 pediatrician recommended brand? I had no idea! Not until his Yuan's Pediatrician prescribed it for his skin asthma. She said most pediatricians and dermatologists worldwide recommend this brand for a number of skin conditions, especially those with dry skin.

Cue panic attack every time I see tiny red bumps on Yuan's skin. Doc said it will get better as he gets older and most children outgrow it. Skin asthma will never go away but bad breakouts and flare-ups can be prevented by using products that are gentle on baby's skin. I kind of went overboard with trying out way too many skin care products since it's a trial and error thing. I just hope he outgrows it very soon.

This two-in-one Cetaphil Baby Gentle Wash and Shampoo is perfect for my baby’s bath time. It lathers up beautifully on my son’s hair and body, leaving it soft to the touch.

What I love about it:

It has a good consistency and it spreads well on skin.
Easy to rinse off.
Tear free, soap free, paraben free and hypoallergenic formula that leaves a soft fragrance.
It leaves skin and hair moisturized, without drying them out.
It has an anti-slip packaging with a nice non-slip shape that makes it super easy to hold and a cap that prevents spillage.

It has a stopper, so it doesn’t flow out if  the bottle tips over, unless you squeeze it. It also has small  dots along the edges to help little hands get a good grip on the bottle. Perfect for little tots like my Yuan who enjoys playing with the bottle.
The scent is very light, and smells clean and fresh.
Super convenient! I'm sure other moms would agree with me that it's very convenient to only need one product for washing and shampooing baby. Mas tipid, momsh! :)

  • 2. He likes being touched. Like he will grab my hand and draw it closer to his face so I can touch and caress it. Actually, you can say so many things with just a simple touch. That's why I always make sure that everything that touches my baby's skin say how much I love him.
My son's pediatrician told me to apply Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion with shea butter on Yuan's face and body right after bath time while his skin is still damp. That's because the baby's skin is more susceptible to becoming dry. The water evaporates off the skin quickly after bathing, leaving the skin dry. So it's very important to lotion up immediately because that's how you can preserve the  skin barrier and seal in the moisture that's still in his skin from the bath.

Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion is paraben free, mineral oil free, hypoallergenic and has worked better than anything to soothe my son's dry skin from skin asthma. It's formulated to be gentle enough for baby's skin even on newborn. I love it so much I even use it on myself. It is seriously amazing, and I'm so glad I found this product. It goes on easily, absorbs quickly and isn't super thick and sticky like some other baby lotions.

Glad I didn't have to wait too long to see results. My baby's skin (the photo above shows Yuan's chunky thigh after 1 week of using Cetaphil Baby) and it's visibly smoother. The red bumps were gone and the redness was significantly reduced. Best part? No more dry, itchy skin. Thanks to Cetaphil Baby!

If your child suffer from skin asthma, eczema and other skin problems, I'd highly recommend these products for you! Though they can be a bit pricey, super sulit naman because it's really effective!

I try not to compromise on non-negotiables like leaving behind the Cetaphil Baby lotion, or leaving my baby in dusty and dirty places that may be harmful to his health or may trigger his skin asthma. Also, I've been ON CALL 24/7 for a nice and gentle rub to ease the outbreaks.

Truth: Motherhood is an endless hustle and we all know that none of it is easy, but it’s so worth it. That’s the thing about being a mom (whether you're a sahm or wahm) it’s just impossible to do everything all at the same time. Some days I’m a better mom than blogger. Other days, a better blogger than I am a mom. There are also a few days that I suck at both of my roles, so I try to work on that, but that takes, umm, baby steps.

Just like my little Yuan who is growing! 25 month check up and he's almost 34 pounds! Tita Doc thinks he's going to be 5'10" and I'm not so sure about that because his dad and I are pretty short (there's pretty so that's a good thing right? lol) but I know for sure, he's going to be my sweet Cetaphil Baby forever!

At the moment, as I'm typing this, Yuan has fallen asleep on my chest and I can't think of a better place to be than right here.

:)
