L'Oreal True Match Foundation Review: I Found My One True Match

Some girls might search all over the world in pursuit of their "True Match," but not me. All it took to discover it was a sneak peek inside inside the Black Fleet Limo and a lovely lunch at Farmacy, where I had the chance to find my true match. I'ts not easy to find the perfect match though, so I thought I'd share this with you.

Enter L'Oreal True Match Foundation. The beauty of this one is said to lie in its customizable coverage and convenience. It now comes with a reformulated and more advanced format. Housed in a sleeker silver transparent bottle, it is now easier to use and the price point is really affordable. After just one application with my foundation brush, it was love at first swipe.

Between breaking a sweat over a deadline and running a few errands on that day, I only had to blot once. I was obsessed because it matches my skin perfectly, and I've been using it ever since.

L'oreal invited me to the media preview of their new L'oreal True Match foundation and a whole lot of new products, that was held at The Farmacy Ice Cream & Soda Fountain in BGC. During the event, I went to different stations and for each station, L'Oréal Paris team gave expert advice in achieving the 'no makeup' makeup look with the new True Match range and Brow Artist collection.

I learned a lot about their newest products and I truly enjoyed the activities in each station. Click through each station to find out more about the new range;

Station 1: L'oreal True Match Blur Cream (Php 400)

I'm not into primer and I deliberately skip it because I'm always in a hurry. I was able to try the new True Match Blur Cream for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised on how lightweight and non-greasy this skin primer is.

It has concentrated light reflectors that instantly blurs away pores and fine lines for smoother, more even-looking skin - the perfect base for the foundation. You'll have flawless complexion in mere seconds.

Station 2: Finding the right shade of L'Oreal True Match Foundation  (Php 600) inside The Black Fleet.

When it comes to makeup, trial and error is how you usually find your perfect match. It's a good thing that the new True Match is available in 15 shades that precisely match fair, medium, and morena skin tones.

The secret? 5 unique micro-pigments that specifically match Asian skin tones and undertones, for the most flawless, natural-looking skin.

I tried a few shades and as per makeup artist's recommendation, I  got the F1 Rose Ivory because I have acidic skin that's why I need a lighter shade of foundation. My first impression was wow, this is gliding on so smoothly and it’s so silky! Yay!

What I love:

  • It doesn't irritate my skin and never (ever) breaks me out.  Also, it's non-pore clogging, so its great for zit-prone skin.
  • It gives me the right coverage, and it doesn't look cake-y. I hate the look of too much foundation, which I think makes one look older.
  • It has a 'breathable' feel and 'super natural' look.
  • Protects against harmful UVA and UVB rays with SPF 16/PA++
  • It allows me to customize the coverage - from light to moderate, and it's super silky.
  • It has great staying power. I didn’t feel like I needed to apply again during the day.
  • There's a wide range of shades ( 15 shades available) that precisely match fair, medium, and morena skin tones.
  • Very affordable. P600

Here's how I got the ‘no makeup’ look in 4 easy steps :

1. Prep with True Match Blur Cream
2. Even out your skin with True Match Foundation
3. Cover flaws with True Match Concealer
4. Set your makeup with True Match Powder

Station 3: True Match Crayon Concealer (Php 500)

This concealer is very easy to use. Yes, just like a crayon! It offers  great coverage from the tiniest of blemishes to larger areas of imperfections.

The tip of the crayon allow for precise application, while the side of the crayon can easily conceal a larger area of the skin. The innovative formula provides full coverage that blends easily and won't look cakey. Choose from 6 natural shades that match a range of skin tones and undertones.

Station 4: Brow Artist Genius Kit (Php 400)

It is the ultimate all in one brow kit. The kit contains a styling wax, a tinted powder, an angled brush,
a spooled brush and a unique set of tweezers. The pigmented wax holds for 12 hours and the natural shaded powder allows for buildable colour.

Brow Artist Designer Pro (Php 500)
This is a 3-in-1 pencil that allows you to shape, shade and style your brows with ease. It features 3 products in one slim tube: a crayon pencil, a brow powder and a brow brush.

Learn the art of brows in 3 easy steps:

Shape the brows by lining in the arch with a crayon tip.
Shade by filling with the powder.
Style into place with the brow brush.

  1. I'm glad that the foundation comes with a pump na so its more easy to control the product. Swatched them at the mall and F1 is super light on my skin tone. I'm torn between G2&G3. I wonder what would be my perfect shade. I want to try them all especially the brow artist designer pro:)
