ELLE Celebrates its 70th Anniversary

Little fashionistas celebrated ELLE's 70th Anniversary with a grand fashion fete last September 19 at the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

The recent celebration was a chic fashion hurrah that showcased the iconic styles over the last seven decades along with the most in vogue styles of today.

Hosted by Nicole Andersson, the fashion fete featured an array of activities including the ELLE Exhibit, with prominent issues of the magazine together with the Kids and Juniors collections on display; and experiential areas where participants got to decorate their own shirts and shoes, take Instagram photos for printing as souvenirs, and learn more interesting trivia about the beloved brand.

Celebrity stylist Alyanna Martinez also came out to give tips to parents and kids on appropriate and stylish dressing, particularly for the anticipated Fall/Winter season.

ELLE’s celebration wouldn’t be complete without a catwalk presentation, and this one definitely did not disappoint. The limited edition“7 Decades, 7 Dresses” headlined the show with new frocks that mark each of the brand’s 7 decades.

From the feminine Flower dress that celebrated women’s power after liberation from war in the 1940s, the sweet Gingham dress of the 50s, 1960s’ signature MOD dress, the Ascot dress of the 70s, the Zip dress so reminiscent of the 80s, 1990s’ minimalist Asymmetrical dress,to the current decade’s moderndress.

A travel segment launched the ELLE Luggage line, with its array of soft and hard shell luggage in red, black, hot pink and copper colors, now available in the country. Young fashionistas took over the runway to show off the Juniors and Kids F/W collections. Girls are all set to be the belles of the ball, with flowing, delicate dresses, metallic knits, couture- style suits, tutus and sparkling skirts. Touches of gold, red and silver, plus luxe embellishments like quilting, embroidery and sequins further elevated the collection’s sophistication. The boys aren’t left behind, fashion-wise, of course, with trendy bottoms, and cheerful, graphic tops fit for the festive holidays.

Remaining first and foremost a strong and positive fashion brand, ELLE at 70 banks on its rich legacy and looks forward to many more years of bringing game-changing trends to stylistas of every generation.
