Jollibee Does Something Grand for the Veterans at Philippine Veterans Affairs Office to Celebrate Grandparents' Day

Today, Sept. 7, is Grandparent's Day. This is a day to honor the many contributions grandparents make to our lives. Of course, I hope families celebrate these important people every day of the year.

But I think it's also nice to set aside one special day to really know how grandparents impact one's upbringing, and to express love, respect, and gratitude to the elders who never fail to provide a safe and loving home to their families.


It's also a special day in a year when we celebrate how lucky we are that we have loving and caring Lolos and Lolas. My daughter is very lucky because she has both sets of grandparents that spoil her to bits. Grannies come in many shapes and sizes, but for Maia who loves them dearly, they’re always just right! Event if they don't see each other everyday, a visit to her Wowo and Wowa's house is always a special treat. I believe it’s not the amount of time grandparents spend with their grandchildren that counts, but the quality of that time and how much they make their life sweeter.

In celebration of Grandparent's Day, Philippine Veterans Affairs Office and Jollibee took a moment to celebrate the incredible contributions grandparents have made to our lives, and paid tribute to our war veterans at PVAO, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Aside from dancing, Jollibee did something grand for the war veterans to celebrate Grandparent's Day. More than the yummy Jollibee Spaghetti, Chickenjoy and Yum burger, Jollibee made this day even more memorable to them by putting the biggest smiles on their faces.

The Bloomfields band also played classic songs from the 60s and 70s for the Lolos and Lolas at Camp Aguinaldo!:)

Finally, they put together this amazing video and tributes that will bring tears to your eyes.

From what I've seen, grandparents want to be active, engaged, involved and appreciated. The most important thing about grandparents, even more important than their wobbly bottom, funny old sweater, toothless smile, funny stories and special good night kisses, is that they love their families as much as we love them.

This Grandparent's Day, don't forget to show how much you appreciate your Lola and Lolo! It’s also a perfect day to celebrate this day at Jollibee! Better yet, why not celebrate Grandparents Day all year long? :)
