Master Announces Starting Lineups for Game Face All-Star Basketball Challenge

Master Philippines launched the biggest hardcourt showdown of the year by announcing the starting five players for the Master Game Face All-Star Basketball Challenge 2014 at the Treston International College Gym in Bonifacio Global City. The game, now on its second year, is scheduled on June 21 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The challenge highlights two prime figures in the Philippine basketball scene, Rain or Shine’s Chris Tiu and San Mig Coffee’s Marc Pingris as the opposing team captains, with the starting lineup composed of UAAP star players. The rest of the team will be drafted from the NCAA and the PBA, further stepping up the highly-anticipated action with the best of the best of collegiate and professional leagues pitted against each other.

Forming the roster of Team Chris under former SEA Games frontman Chris Tiu are powerhouse names Jeron Teng of the DLSU Green Archers, Chris Newsome of the ADMU Blue Eagles, Kevin Ferrer of the UST Growling Tigers and Mike Tolomia of the FEU Tamaraws.

On the other hand, current Gilas Pilipinas defensive ace Marc Pingris helms Team Marc with standout cagers Andre Paras of the UP Fighting Maroons, Jeoffrey Javillonar of the NU Bulldogs, Jericho Cruz of the AdU Soaring Falcons, and Roi Sumang of the UE Red Warriors.

The announcement ceremony also invited fans and basketball enthusiasts to take part in the selection process by voting for their selected choice players for a given team and position by simply logging on to facebook.com/MasterPhilippines and clicking on the Master Game Face application. The online voting has already started and the complete team rosters will be announced on a special draft event on May 31.
