Filipino Feast at its Finest at Chef Laudico Guevarra's

Filipinos love to eat and we have a  big appetite for tasty Filipino dishes. So if you're looking for a place to indulge your love of all things Filipino, from food to architecture to fine art –  look no further than the delicious Filipino buffet and month-long exhibit of artist Vincent Padilla's work at the new restaurant in San Juan, Guevarra's by Chef Laudico.

Guevarra's is the  restaurant to visit if you’re strutting out memory-evoking Filipino experience to your foreign visitors or if you just want to try darn good home cooking. You'll experience great Filipino cuisine in an old 1940s setting and it's a lot like stepping back in time.

The huge chandeliers and glass windows laminated with portraits of a by-gone era brings to life the rich Filipino culture and history. Being a place full of history, this typical 1940's Filipino home has a vintage feel with a modern twist in its architecture and interior design.

Located on P. Guevarra street, I don't mind getting a bit lost in the suburbs of San Juan in order to sample the famous Chef Laudico's newest menu. Actually, I got lost on my first trip but it was worth it!

Vincent Padilla with Chef Jackie and Roland Laudico
Guevarra's pay homage to Filipino genius through culinary artistry and visual arts. The launch of the month-long exhibit by the artist Vincent Padilla has marked the grand opening of Guevarra's last 16th of July 2013.

A picture paints a thousand words or so the saying goes... the portraits on the walls will take you to a trip down memory lane as you explore the majestic works of Vincent Padilla while enjoying an extraordinary gastronomical adventure at Guevarra's.

Whether you're looking for a place to host a wedding, baptism, small meeting, debut, birthday party, Guevarra's is where it's at. Bigger rooms are available for bigger groups or families and smaller tables for couples and small meetings. Not only will you walk away with a happy tummy, you will also have a beautiful backdrop for your photo memories, a “must” for foodies, Instagram addicts and photo enthusiasts.

Here are some of the guests at the Grand Opening of Guevarra's:

Korean TV host and DJ, Grace Lee, graced the event.
Bb. Pilipinas beauties

The cutting of the ceremonial ribbon were led by  San Juan city Mayor Guia Gomez and Sen. JV Ejercito.
Now onto the buffet menu!

Chef Laudico's menu was amazing! The food is prepared and served with a great deal of love and passion for food. Some of my favorites are the Vegetarian pizza, Angus Beef Tapa, Kare-kare, Spicy beef kaldereta, lechon sinigang and roast beef. These incredible dishes might put you into a food-induced food coma. You have been warned.

Regarding the dessert menu, it was yummy! So yummy I made 2 trips to the crepe station, ice cream machine, chocolate and latik fountain. Don't miss the suman balls, maja blanca and leche flan! :) So if you would like to experience a  full-blown Filipino buffet, fill your plate with gustatory delights of great Filipino cuisine, and eat to your heart’s content at Chef Laudico Guevarra's.

Here's a tip though: you'll have to call ahead of time to make reservations, this food haven gets jampacked even on Mondays.

Compared to other buffets, the prices are really affordable and super "sulit" if you ask me!
