Go On with GOO.N | GOO.N Diapers Review

When I received the invitation from GOO.N to attend their diaper brand launch, I was thrilled and kind of did a happy dance, I must say, because it could be the new solution to my diaper woes. Ya know, unexpected marathon poop session, sleepless nights, and the occasional poop party in my baby's crib.

I'm one of those OC moms who devote themselves to nitpicking new products for their babies. And yes, I'm also one of those moms in the diaper aisle staring at a dozen different kinds of diapers trying to make life-impacting decisions for my one-year-old baby boy: organic vs. non-organic, branded vs. generic, pants type vs. tape variant, etc.

Of course, I did what any mommy blogger would do: tried it on my baby, Yuan Brent, to experiment with the new diapers. Read on to know my final verdict.

Lovely setup in the Anahaw Room of Manila House at the Launch on Thursday, July 6th, 2017.

Walking into the event, I was surprised at how many beautiful mommies and cute babies were already there and I was taken away by the beauty of the venue. It had a lovely interior, with elegant table setup complemented by patches of gold and green on the wall.

GOO.N Diapers is a leading diaper brand in Japan and Southeast Asia such as Thailand and Indonesia, and is now in the Philippines through One-Stop Distribution Inc (ODI), a distribution company known for bringing premier brands in the country.

“Japan is known for its cutting-edge technology when it comes to their products, and diapers are no exception. We are thrilled to bring GOO.NDiapers to the Philippine market. Its affordable price points will make sure that we can bring these superior-quality diapers closer to Filipino families, so infants and toddlers can enjoy the best of their surroundings, while parents relish in quality time without worrying about their babies’ comfort.” says Jesse Ho-Maxwell, President of One-Stop Distribution, Inc.

I also met the beautiful momma, Amber (IG: @amommabroad) and her super cute baby boy, Wells. She shared a bit about motherhood including her diaper woes.

Sisters Jessica Kienle-Maxwell and Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez, GOO.N Diapers’ newest brand ambassadors, are ideal examples of moms on-the-go. As these well-known designer duo lead hectic schedules, making time for both their families and their careers can be quite a challenge.

“Motherhood is such a life-changing experience. Your priorities and your values change, and ultimately, you just want the best for your baby. When I first had my child, juggling my work and parenting together was tough. But as I learned along the way, choosing high-quality diapers was so important for my baby’s welfare and makes my job a lot easier,” shares Steph “And now that Jess has just given birth, I can’t wait to share more of my parenting tips and experience motherhood together with her!”

In a demo to check how GOO.N diapers stack up to other brand of  disposables in terms of absorbency, the diapers were fully submerged in water and soaked for like 15 minutes. GOO.N diaper passed the test with flying colors, and it gave the best result with its diaper technology.

Goo.N is comparable to other brands in terms of how well they absorb wetness. Obviously, it's super dry and  has higher absorbency than other brands. It can carry five times more water than the other brands can.

I was so impressed, I immediately try it on my baby Yuan. My son is currently 12 months old and he is now wearing Large size with approximate weight of 11kg. He is now at a walking to running stage and it was our first time trying Goo.n pants type diapers (Goo.N Friend Doraemon Edition!) and I was impressed (again) at how soft they were and at the super cute designs. Doraemon is sooo cute!  He wore it from 10pm to 9am, offered no complaints, and showed no signs of rash, and yes, it's a full 11-hour sleep. Yay!

Good nappies make his chunky thighs look good, yes?
Absorbency: Amazing. My baby experienced an uninterrupted sleep and more active playtime. I love its ultra absorbent core with its dry and breathable outer sheets. So soft, it doesn't create much friction while he runs and moves freely. It absorbs quickly even with my super active baby moving around.

So this is his soiled diaper after 11 hours.. Not soggy at all! There are no little jelly blobs too. It says "back" so it's not difficult to tell front/back.

Tape variant, before and after
Also, it has a Wetness Indicator located on the front of the diaper that helps us moms know when to change our baby's diapers. Yellow means dry. Blue means it's time for a nappy change! It's that simple.

Texture: The pants are soft, smooth and thanks to the stretchiness, my son seems very much at ease walking  around wearing them.

Fit, comfort and design: Great fit and super cute designs! GOO.N offers premium (GOO.N Premium) and economy (GOO.N Friend) diapers. Each one comes in pants and tape variants depending on your child’s needs.

They are convenient to pack and travel with as they are very thin and compact. It's also easier to dispose it by simply rolling it up and throw it away after use. Just roll and throw.

Their diapers range from NB to XXL. The pants type comes in a super-thin and  stretch-to-fit diaper design, which fits like real underwear that prevents leakage and ensures a secure fit while allowing my baby the freedom to move about.
Packaging: The packaging of the premium is almost similar to economy, with "Japan Quality" printed on top of the packaging. It also has some of the diaper features printed on the back of the diaper.

Price and Availability: GOO.N Diapers are available in SM Hypermarket, Rustans, Robinsons, Lazada, Makati Supermarket, Pioneer, Unimart, Rose Pharmacy, Generica, Puregold (Duty Free), Landers, Baby Company, Fishermall. Alfamart, Cash and Carry, Alturas, and others, and comes in different sizes from Newborn to XXXL. SRP: GOO.N Premium Tape/Pant Super Jumbo - Php 680.00 and Jumbo - Php 420.00 and GOO.N Friend Tape Super Jumbo - Php 439.00, Jumbo - Php 229.00, Regular - Php 79.00

Lastly, finding a nappy that both fits and takes care of our baby's delicate skin can be a big challenge for us moms, but in my little experiment, I'm happy to report that Goo.n diapers did not disappoint! That said, if this were Diapers Got Talent and I were a judge, this diaper would get a big, fat YES. It’s so, so good. It’s a great combination of functionality, softness, and an incredible amount of absorbency. Plus, I need not worry about having to change diapers all the time nor feel anxious that my baby will get messy leakage or diaper rash.

Well, I used it again in the morning just to check that the first trial wasn’t a fluke. And guess what, it's the real deal. My favorite thing about it is that it passed every test I gave it.  It’s a quality, affordable diaper which only costs a little over Php400 and that’s a price my tight budget can handle! That said, I highly recommend GOO.N Diapers without any reservations or hesitation. If you’ve got a heavy wetter and you’ve tried everything to no avail, I’m certain that this diaper won’t let you down. It’s that good.

I also tried GOO.N's baby wipes on my baby and here's what I love about it:
  • They're made of 99% purified water, which is very safe for baby's sensitive skin.
  • Fragrance free. No alcohol and paraben.
  • The newly developed corrugated sheets keep the moisture within each wipes very well.
Going back to GOO.N Diapers... it offers the best comfort for babies as they grow from newborn to toddler. So, give your little one the freedom to move around and play to his/her heart’s desire, like all babies should. Connect with your baby and teach them all about the world they live in. Go on, and feel free with GOO.N Diapers!
