Review: Coffee Book + Victor Ortega Salon, Spa and Facial Center Premier in Congressional Avenue Extension

I discovered a newly opened salon where you can get Kim K's' lob, J. Law's pixie, Jennifer Aniston's honey blonde, and more. Seriously, Victor Ortega Salon knows you want it all and, lucky for you, that’s exactly what they offer.

I'm luckier though because it's just a few minutes away from our house in Congressional Avenue Extension, and I also had the privilege of testing out their services a few days after its opening. When I go to events and meetings, I can't get dressed without good hair. So, this salon just seemed like the answer to my prayers.

Ribbon cutting: Ms. Michelle Turabin with her family,  Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Victor Ortega
Victor Ortega and Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdes graced the grand opening last October 15. To be honest, this is the best salon to try if you want a radical change and a fashion forward look but are wary of your budget.

When I entered the salon, I was surprised that it was big and spacious. It can accommodate a lot of customers, maybe around 20. Also, the elegant salon was a sight to behold. The facade, with its wide mirrors and comfy couches, is quite contemporary and polished. Parking is also available at the basement and there’s a guard who can assist you.

One thing I just love about this chic salon is how much value they invest in their customers. You'll instantly feel the warm, intimate ambiance the moment you step inside this salon. Its look is accentuated by the dedicated team of stylists and attendants. They surely aid to the best experience you can have a salon could offer. The staff wasn't loud and very professional looking. They are not pushy, if you know what I mean, when it comes to offering services. All of their well-rounded and highly-trained stylists have undergone weeks of training for each premium brand they use. Rest assured, you'll definitely be in good hands here.

They have a wide range of hair treatments and services, and each one is made-to-measure for clients. Aside from keeping its clients glamorous and fab, they also offer hair-care and styling services at a very reasonable price yet still give that styling like a Boss. They also offer RF Treatments and Non Invasive Lipo or commonly known as lipo cavitation.

I tried the services full hair color and Keratin treatment which I think is a very effective hair therapy treatment that gave my hair a smoother and softer feel. The hair color didn't sting or hurt my scalp and there's no strong chemical smell. Check out the before and after pics.

After the treatment, this is how my hair turned out! It transformed my horribly rooted, shapeless and extremely dry hair into super soft, glossy locks. The treatment created the smoothness, volume, shape and movement that my hair needed.

The best thing though is that you can eat while having your hair rebonded. I'm sure you know how long it takes for a rebond to finish and I'm glad to know that they have a coffee shop beside the salon called Coffee Book, where you can order food and drinks while you wait.

I ordered Lasagna and Strawberries and cream frappe at Coffee Book while waiting for my hair treatment to finish. I loved the food so much that's why I've been eating in this place for more than 4 times already. Best Beef Tapa and coffee for breakfast! The servings are huge, not your typical tiny plate or tiny cup that you have to drink 6 cups to wake up but a cup of best tasting coffee blend. Oh, and the complimentary herbal tea at the salon is on point. I loved it and I got like 3 refills! lol

They also offer sandwiches, pasta and rice meals like their signature Beef Tapa which my hubby just loves and they do pretty much any other popular mocktails and coffee options you can think of! The prices are very affordable too; it ranges from P90-140 per meal. My favorite is the cheesy and creamy Lasagna, plus they also offer appetizers like calamares, twister fries, mozarella sticks and more.

Twisted or not, don't bid the place good bye without trying their twister fries. It is Maia's favorite and definitely a must try!

If you have a full day ahead, get a rice meal or pasta dish instead for a filling and satisfying way to start the day. You'll definitely love their Beef Tapa.

If the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that greets you the moment you step in isn't enticing yet, then the rows of soft muffins and freshly baked goods will. Don't forget to grab a refreshing glass of Spring Fizz or Milo Dinosaur, or perhaps a creamy Strawberry frappe to pair up with your delectable breakfast.

Their Pinacolada is also a must try. It has the perfect symphony of real pineapple chunks, with a hint of mint and soda.

Overall, I’m quite satisfied with my experience at Victor Ortega’s Salon and CoffeeBook. Their affordable price with excellent customer service makes me think I would actually keep going back there and get a haircut slash food trip more often.

So, as soon as you need a breather and you want a quick beauty break, head to the Coffee Book and visit Victor Ortega salon. Take a break from work and get a little pampering, have a manicure, foot spa or simply enjoy a cup of coffee.
